I've said it before, but if the 360 didn't have fifa, all I would need is my Wii.

Easily my favourite console, (although I would admit that a big reason for this is because it plays gamecube games). mainly because I just find most of the games 'fun' something which I find is lacking on other consoles.

There's always something to play, especially if people are selling Fiyah Emblem for £12...

There are some gems coming out this year, still my favourite home console.

Jeez mayne...there's a good chance Nintendo is going to announce a new Wii Fire Emblem this month.

I'd prefer another DS one, tbh.

I was about to say the exact same thing.

Portable Fire Emblem is the ultimate addiction.

Only if they do it right this time.

No more skimping on character development and game types.

Punch out
Motion plus tennis
Motion plus golf

for starters.

That's quite enough to be shelling out for.

A sequel to Sacred Stones would be nice.

You bought Shadow Dragon didn't you, H? Did you get a chance to play it? I don't remember you posting in the Fire Emblem thread.

Right, updated the first post to include some silly omissions. Sure I've still missed some though.

Yep, that sums my feelings up pretty well. Except the Gamecube bit - just a nice little bonus for me.

Nintendo Europe, when will the UK be getting Excitebots? (Excitetruck sequel) Already out in the US and receiving favourable reviews, but no release date for here yet. Damn, I  Excitetruck!

The wii's line-up of late had been decent, if not stellar, which pretty much sums up the system's life to date for me. On the horizon punchout is the one I'm most looking forward to. As for E3, anything along the lines of F-Zero, Pilotwings or Starfox would be most welcome.

Ironically, it seems that the Wii has had one of the better line-ups for the first part of 2009 - an improvement to this point last year anyway.

One game I'm really looking forward to is the new No More Heroes, although I don't think it'll get released until 2010.

Yeah, I'd agree though it is a bit like a very one sided football match: it's difficult to say whether the wii's been really good or the opposition has been really bad. Bit of both at times really.

Rubbish.

Early last year saw Geometry Wars Galaxies, Zack and Wiki, Ghost Squad, No More Heroes, Fire Emblem, PES2009, Mario Kart, Wii Fit and Boom Blox.

That's a decent lineup too.

There seems to be a glut of 'decent' stuff on the horizon, but nothing stands out as potentially exceptional. Hopefully E3 will provide something special.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It would be really amazing if Ninty could come up with another title that, by the end of the wii's life, would be a serious contender in most people's eyes to Galaxy as the best game on the system. It is a massively tall order given that Galaxy is one of the best games ever made, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks for the info. Watched a couple of videos and looks great fun :)

Seems very like that Wario game on Gamecube, Wario World? - short, but I loved every minute of it.

Not a bad line up for the 'summer drought'

I haven't bought a new Wii game since October last year and even that was a game that had been out for a while beforehand. I don't really have time to play games at Uni which is probably why, but there's been nothing of interest to me either. I'll definitely pick up a game or two to play over the summer though. MotionPlus is pretty much guaranteed for me and then probably The Conduit depending on impressions.
