Well I now have an absolute glut of 90s blue sky arcade racing games to add to my collection, as well as more up to date stuff in teknoparot. Its amazing how stuff like sega rally, daytona and others still look good, even though the polycount for the entire game is probably lower than a single gun in a modern shooter. That bright and chunky art style from sega at that time is still so good .

Not to mention this blue sky anthem.

For reasons I can't explain or understand I've never been hugely into Daytona. I've always preferred the gameplay, aesthetics and music of Outrun:

Have you done Game Gear stuff, as the folder is showing empty for me and I don't think any other is.

Just checked and it's created the folder, but not uploaded them yet.

EDIT: I'm manually uploading them now. Should only take a few minutes.

Speaking of Game Gear, if you get the chance give a game called Sylvan Tale a go. It’s a very Zelda-esque title and looks bloody fantastic for the system.

There was a run of it at the most recent SGDQ:

(starts at 2:15)

Such a shame it didn't get localised in the day, looks like one of the GG's most involved games

Just checked the version of Sylvan Tale in the folder and it looks like it's been patched for English.

Looking for other translation patches as well. Especially SNES stuff that never got an english localisation.

strawberry float sakes, getting the right files for mega cd to work via retroarch was a pain in the arse.

I tried and really like that launchbox thing, and you can use retroarch as the emulator and launchbox as the front end. Go really well together.

Mega CD stuff is best kept in a folder per game/disc and point retroarch or launchbox at the .cue file.

Glad you like launchbox. Easily the best front-end I've tried. There's tons of tutorials on setting up specific emulators with it on YouTube as well. Guy called ETAprime does great ones.

I lived on my own then, so one weekend I just hooked my pc up to my (at the time) amazing 40" 1080p tv, put my Microsoft sidewinder wheel on a table and spent most of the time drinking cider and playing Daytona, strawberry floating fantastic

I downloaded the model 2 and model 3 folders. Got Daytona and sega rally going  I didn't bother hooking my chair up or anything but they work flawlessly. Also tried VF2 briefly, it's a great game, probably one of my favourite fighting games.

Amazing that you can have the actual arcade games you used to go mad for, just running on your desktop pc.

It's with gladness in my heart that I can announce that "The Great ROM Upload of 2018"TM is drawing to a close. When I left this morning it was down to it's last 20 or so files. It was dealing with PSP games at the time, but there's probably a few PS2 and maybe even GameCube games in there.

Now this isn't the end of things being added, (I've still got plans for 3DS, Wii U, ALL THE ARCADE GAEMES and other assorted things) but it is the end of the huge folder sync.

I'll be moving the folder into my main Google Drive section and possibly making a few changes to the way it's shared, so anyone who already has the link should look out for a PM from me at some point in the next day or so with an update on how to access it.

Always glad to take more for the folder. I'm planning on making it so certain people can upload files to the collection as well, which would allow us to expand what's on offer. Especially around systems like the Dreamcast, PSP, 3DS and Wii U, which are thin on the ground.

My next upload is likely to be Naomi or NeoGeo, followed by some of the games I have for Tekno Parrot.

Added a few things to the folder last night/today.

There's now a "Packaged Romset" folder which contains mostly "complete" sets of games. So for example I have a zip/rar file that has every Game Boy game from each region (More or less). There's stuff in there that you won't find anywhere else on the drive.

I've also started to upload 3DS games. These are decrypted and should "just run" in Citra.
In the Arcade folder you'll also find a new one for Tekno Parrot. Tekno Parrot is a "loader" for more recent Arcade games that run on PC's. You'll find games such as After Burner Climax, Sega Rally 3, Virtua Tennis 4 and Mario Kart Arcade GP DX.

EDIT: Oh and NeoGeo games are up as well.

Indeed. A zip/rar file full of them and the TOS files I believe.

Edit: 2.3gb worth it seems. :D

So yeah, the Packaged Romsets folder has some interesting stuff in it:

Acorn Archimedes (Early 90's not quite PC found in schools)
Apple II
Atari 800 and ST
MSX and MSX2 (Need to get the patches for the original Metal Gear games as they're much better than the NES ones)
SNES - Satellaview games (I've not tried to get these working yet, but it's on my radar)
Virtual Boy
ScummVM (Loads of point and clicks)
Sega SG1000 (Precursor to the Master System)
Vectrex
