BOTW making progress already.

https://streamable.com/vm3ju

Video was recorded on following specs: i7-4790K, GTX 780, 8GB RAM. I choose to not alter the speed of the video to best represent how it actually runs. But I did prepare a shader cache so there is no extra suttering. Audio is muted because it is just white noise.

Lots of bugs that make the game unplayable. Physic glitches, rune abilities that require object selection don't work, no water collision, etc. Essentially it's impossible to leave the tutorial area without using a save.

Yeah was a piece of piss in the end, up and running in about 5 minutes. So many more games to play now. :datass: :dread:

No surprise given that there was nothing there to age.

Can you use a DS4 plugged straight into the USB for this?

I don't think a DS4 is plug and play but a wired 360 pad definitely is.

Ps4 pad works perfectly over Bluetooth and when set to emulate an xinput device.

I'm probably being an idiot but I'm struggling with this DS4 setup. I've created a profile and it's gone to the controls page where it has an image of the DS4 and selection for which button does what, but am I supposed to (for example) press X and then click on the image what X should be? Or am i assigned what I click to the keyboard.

Confused :(

edit: hmm seems I managed to get it to work perfectly for Blood Dragon, oh yeah :datass: :datass:

Just struggling to get it to work with Kega Fusion... can you even use DS4s on emulators?

Okay so I've managed to get my DS4 to work with Project64, had a quick go on Goldeneye and it was pretty responsive, still need to work out some of the buttons. Also downloaded roms for Ocarina of Time and Mario 64 as I've never played either.

I also got ZSNES and downloaded some of the classics on that that I've never played, can't figure out how to use my DS4 with that yet but perhaps that emulator's easier to use with a keyboard, I dunno?

Got PCSX2 as well but only had a quick play about on that, seems good though.

Going to have to take a look at the Dolphin guff, looks and sounds fantastic!

Emulation is amazing :toot:

What do N64 and SNES games look like? I remember seeing F-Zero running on the Wii U, thought it looked gooseberry fool and bought nothing else. Any improvements on PC emulators? I think a small windowed screen would make the games look better.
Yes?

Certainly handheld games look better on a smaller screen, if you up-res DS games above a certain point they look awful without some custom antialiasing plugins. I play nes, snes, gameboy and gba games on my phone as the screen is small enough. F-zero gx at 1080p and 60fps is a sight to behold :datass:

Never pre-order or pre-purchase a console, game or season pass.

I've only sampled Goldeneye on Project64 so far and whilst it looked like ass (always did in my opinion), it plays really nicely and sounds great. Also has cheats that you can enable which I definitely haven't used :shifty:

I downloaded Dolphin before work this morning and a few of the top titles so am looking forward to trying more stuff this evening. These emulators have opened up a whole new library of games that I never got the opportunity to play before, all those classic games that you see in top game lists that for one reason or another I just didn't get to play, can't wait to experience them all

I've got it in my arcade machine and under-TV PC. It's hard work - and I'm still not 100% happy with it.

I like having the artwork and video previews, but I'd probably just go for Emulation Station if I had to do it again.

I'd also recommended trying PPSSPP for (you've guessed it) PSP emulation, it basically does all the upscaling magic that Dolphin does but for the PSP.

Whilst I did have a PSP (and I even played it a couple of times!), I'll be honest I'm not really sure there's anything on there that appeals. Any recommendations?
