Been using Redream and enjoying my time with the Dreamcast. Randomly it's stopped loading marvel Vs capcom 2, it says it can't find a vmu. But every other game still works fine.

Also got myself a PS2 emulator and Bloody Roar 4. Hopefully get street fighter ex 3 downloaded soon.

Wish my image sig would work

It's bloody lovely, very well made and the dpad and buttons feel great. It also came loaded with thousands of games across all systems up to the first PlayStation which I wasn't expecting, so I was able to play right away.

I got one of these yesterday in SNES white because I have a handheld problem. The game switcher in onion is ingenious. I’m worried that people report it being fragile but it came with a case so I can see me taking this in my backpack everywhere.

Why is retroarch touted as this amazing platform and is on every YouTuber video about emulating when its the most unintuitive and strawberry floating ass-backwards piece of crap?

This is probably a "skill issue" or I'm being "filtered" or whatever but why is it possible when setting the controls to completely strawberry floating break the whole thing so that you can't actually navigate any of the menus anymore?

I've tried several times to set it up on my Amazon fire TV cube and every single goddamn time I switch the input from the TV remote to a controller it becomes impossible to select anything in the menu or get out of that menu, making the whole thing utterly pointless. I have no idea if it works well as I can't get beyond this strawberry floating basic step of setting it up and the fact this is even possible is a sign of toweringly stupid design, coupled with the fact that there seem to be controller options in at least 3 different menus? The only solution seems to be to completely uninstall it then tentatively try again, only to get the same bloody outcome every time.

I would rather deal with setting up individual emulators and get their controls to work over moonlight/playnite when I build my new pc for streaming than keep banging my head against this strawberry floating joke of trying to get it running locally.

All these multi platform emulators are all complete strawberry floating crap and made by strawberry floating morons, I tried some others like lemuroid which is allegedly simple etc but it's also hard to set up the controls on that too.

I cannot be strawberry floating bothered, will just take the more straightforward option of streaming emulating things I could run on my phone because it would be nice to use what little free time I have for anything anymore on maybe enjoying myself instead of staring at menus, reading thick strawberry floats on Reddit or listening to an endless conveyor of interminable idiot YouTubers asking me to like and subscribe over their dubstep intros before they ramble through completely non helpful "quick setup" guides.

I agree with you on retroarch being the most insanely irritating granular gooseberry fool hole

I think people block out of their minds the fact that every game you boot you have to open the rom menu and double check and configure the thousand ass backward key combos

I hear you homie

I like retroarch as a means of getting emulation set up for a load of older systems more or less in one go.
It's great as the backend emulation for launcher programs such as launchbox and emulationstation. Most of which have some sort of default configs for it.

But it is a fiddly, obtusely designed mess, especially on non-windows platforms.

I went for the RG35xx over the Miyoo and it's gone away for Christmas. Whilst I get all overexcited at the thought of playing Front Mission 3 on a proper console I was wondering if anyone else had one?

I have the Miyoo not the RG35XX but my understanding is they are very comparable and only have a few differences - you will enjoy it. Handheld emulators are ace :D I use my Miyoo Mini every night

Standard advice when anyone gets one of these devices though - ditch the SD cards it comes with. Literally snap them in two and use your own SanDisk or Samsung or reputable brand. The off brand SD cards will randomly die without fail after a few weeks.

Get Garlic OS as it's miles better than stock firmware and easy to setup: https://www.patreon.com/posts/garlicos-for-76561333

Either use your own ROMs or google the phrase "Tiny Best Set Go" and see where that takes you (curated games list).

Only big difference between Miyoo and RG35XX is the Miyoo Mini+ has wifi which really is only good for retro achievements so you aren't missing too much. RG35XX has a built in clock which is needed for pokemon (miyoo can sync time on wifi though so much and such the same).

If you're going to ditch the SD card, make sure you get the various system bios files off it first as those can be a pain yo get hold of. The roms you could probably replace as mine came with a lot of misnamed ones or ones that have been altered in some way.

I always copy them to a directory on one of my hard drives just in case... then you can mess with what you put on your card or a new card and fall back to the old stuff if needed.

Yes is is good practice, clone the contents of the card so you can always recover it if needed.
