Oh right. I just wanted to make sure you've played it.

I have it on cart, so I've made it to the boss of the 6th level, bloody hard game. Pretty much requires an excellent d-pad and set thrusters to 100% all the time.

I can't see the GBA, SNES or PS1 folders. I can see the DS, GameBoy, GameCube and PS2 folders though. Is anyone else still having this issue?

Try clearing your cache or a different browser.

Ad7 was saying he didn't see stuff on his iPad, but it appeared on his PC.

Ah, that works. I can see it on my phone so I'll try clearing my PC cache.

Thank you :toot:

Found a new load of Amiga games last night. Basically all the ones I already have but they're in WHD format (Basically "installed" to an Amiga Hard drive) rather than the ADFs (Floppy disks).

The upshot is that instead of having multiple disk files for these games I can have just one. It also eliminates the disk swapping needed when playing multi-floppy games and as such speeds up load times.

Using them with FS-UAE is a piece of piss as well as it connects to an database and downloads the appropriate configurations for each game, making it just a case of adding the games to my library, syncing the configs and then double clicking it. No more having to individually configure each game to get the best outcome (Mostly).

Once I've finished the upload I'll be replacing the current ADF files with these WHD ones, so if you really like disk swapping I'd get the ones you want sooner rather than later.

PS1 games seem to be done now.

Looks like it's moved onto Wii games.

Yeah there's a decent amount of crossover there, but equally a decent amount of stuff I don't have. Especially Dreamcast stuff which is quite light for me at the moment. You've got a lot more JRPGs than I do as well.

Once I've got the sync completely finished on my end I'm going to move the drive away from the Sync folder and re-share it with everyone. I might change it to only people who I add (So email addresses) can access it, but I would also see if I could allow you guys space to upload stuff as well. Fill in any gaps in the library (Especially DC games).

I thought I'd ape the retro thread for people posting their collections, albeit in digital form so possibly less impressive:

First of all Redream (Dreamcast)

PPSSPP (PSP)

Project64 (N64)

Nice. Dreamcast and PSP are both systems I never got a chance to fully flesh out my collection of before EP stopped offering games.

Getting more of those games is yet another job to add to the list.

My collection is in the Spreadsheet (Though it needs updated again) in my sig. I'd post pics but the bandwith of the forum couldn't cope.

So the great upload continues (Yes it's still going) but we're entering the end-game now and we're down to the last 200-300Gb. I expect it to finish up early next week (Say monday or tuesday).

Once it's done there will be a few new folders that have been added in.

Atari 5200
Atari 7800

Arcade
- Model 2 (Daytona USA, Virtua Cop, Virtua Fighter etc)
- Model 3 (Daytona 2, Sega Rally 2, Virtua Fighter 3 etc)
- Triforce

Image

Triforce is the collaboration between Nintendo, Sega and Namco based on the Gamecube and houses games like Mario Kart Arcade GP 1 & 2, F-Zero AX and Donkey Kong Jungle Fever. It's not very well emulated at the moment, so only the two Mario Kart games are really playable, which is why they are the only games you'll find in there. They required me to have a separate Dolphin install for both of them, so I've include them in there as well. If anyone has any issues with it, give me a shout and I'll see what I can do to figure it out. Normal Dolphin cannot run these games, only the earlier (And now ignored) Triforce branches work. Apparently you can play them on the Wii with some work, but I've got no experience with that. Do some digging peeps.

I'm taking a slightly different approach for Arcade games, where I'll be separating them into collections of hardware/emulators. This is because while MAME can handle the vast majority of stuff, as soon as you start dealing with 3D games (Mid-90's onward) it's performance becomes unpredictably spotty. For example while something like Ridge Racer and Time Crisis run fine on it, Daytona runs like gooseberry fool. This only gets worse as the hardware gets more advanced. In these cases specific emulators are more appropriate.

Therefore if there is a better standalone emulator for specific arcade hardware, I'll be bundling the games for that.

Currently I'm working on assembling a folder for Naomi and Atomiswave games (Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Powerstone, Crazy Taxi etc) which will be ready soon.

Ooh that's ace on the Triforce stuff, always wanted to try Mario Kart GP emulated. The Sega model 2-3 arcade games too

Are your Gamecube + Wii uploads complete? I've got quite a few I can send you to fill some gaps

Yeah they're pretty good. It's a shame F-Zero AX doesn't really work though, otherwise I'd have that in there too.

I "think" the GC and Wii stuff is done, but don't quote me on that. Certainly if it shows up in the folder it should be fine to download. I haven't looked at the GC stuff, but I know Wii uploaded a lot of stuff a few days ago.

EDIT: Oh and Model 2 stuff is great. Peak 90's arcade stuff in there.

Finished the Naomi folder last night so that's ready to go at some point. Then I continued playing around with Tekno Parrot and while I'm getting close to getting MKAGP DX working it's not quite there yet. Sega Rally 3 on the other hand plays at 1080p 60fps and looks utterly gorgeous. So that'll be in the folder as well once I'm ready for it.

Is there a better way to play naomi/2 stuff other than demul, do they work in MAME or are you using demul? I've tried Demul but its extremely fiddly for the arcade stuff.

It's Demul I'm using yeah. I might have a look to see if there's anything else I can use, but MAME is next to useless for Naomi stuff.

I've got all my Naomi stuff launching through Launchbox, so apart from tweaking the settings of Demul (Which I've not done yet) it's seamless for me. I just double click the game and it loads the ROM.

I'm going to have a look at launchbox as i have loads of emulators and it'd be nice to have everything in one place, especially if it can wrangle stuff like demul without any fuss.

It's pretty handy and I really like it. I won't say that there's no fuss involved, but it's fairly straightforward. You set up a platform, designate a default emulator for it and point it at the ROMS for that system. Some emulators will require a little additional tweaking in terms of command line arguments, but generally once you've got it working for one game it should work for the others. Especially with earlier systems.

If you need a hand with it give me a shout and I'll see what I can do.

So to get controller support you need to pay them? I'm suddenly not so sure about this...

There are a couple of features behind their paywall, but it's not too bad without it (Though I did pay it).

The controller support is just for the Bigbox (TV mode), and the actual windows interface doesn't use that anyway which is what I use most of the time. It's the most comprehensive frontend I've ever used and has so much functionality built in that I think it's worth giving them a few quid. Try the free version (Which is pretty comprehensive anyway) and see how you get on.

The only emulator I've ever been impressed enough with to give money to its creators is PPSSPP, and that was a 5 euro donation that didn't add extra functions.

It's not an emulator, just a front-end system. So you just plug your emulators and ROMs into it. Keeps them all in one place and means I don't have to hunt for a specific emulator when I want to play something, I just double click it from the list.

It's got a really detailed windows interface which is what I mostly use. I've also got it on another pc where it automatically goes into BigBox mode. Think steam big picture mode where I can sort games by platform, genre, series and just choose whatever one I want with a press of a button.

It also pulls artwork, music, screenshot, boxart and various bits of metadata about the games from some online databases. I love it. :D
