Yeah I had a physical copy of it back in the day. Never finished it (Don't think I even got that far tbh), but I loved the vibe it has and I've never played anything else quite like it.

I was really keen to play this at release but, at that time, I gamed on Xbox rather than PlayStation. It looked wonderfully weird!

I wholeheartedly recommend it, it's one of the weirdest games I've ever played.

The characters are all brilliantly freakish, especially the lizard nurse with the giant syringe.

Yeah it's really unique and the characters are a huge part of it. Definitely recommended.

Great Upload Update!

So the backup continues to plod on. Sadly PS2 games continue to make up the majority of the upload (I'm almost a third of the way through those now :dread: ) so not much else to report other than that. It has snuck through a couple of other things though.

In the Translations folder you'll find patched, translated versions of three games:

Wonder Project J2 - N64
Game Centre CX 2 - NDS
Ace Attorney Investigations 2 - Miles Edgeworth Prosecutors Path - NDS

These are courtesy of Jazzem who PM'd me links to some stuff. My understanding is that none of these three received western releases so they should be worth checking out.

In addition there will be hacks for Super Mario 64 (The 60fps one he was talking about before) and a patched version of "9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors" for the DS that has increased text speed (To help with the sheer volume of dialogue in that game). These should hopefully be uploaded in the next few days.

As for the PS2 progress, the following should all be available now. Bear in mind that while most games are in ISO format, some will be in BIN & CUEs. Make sure and grab both files in those cases.

PS2 games so far:
Mega Man X7
Need for Speed - Hot Pursuit 2
Fifa 12
Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec
Monster Rancher 4
Persona 3 FES
Katamari Damacy
Ratchet & Clank - Going Commando
Lara Croft Tomb Raider - The Angel of Darkness
X-Men Legends II - Rise of Apocalypse
Raiden III
Evil Dead - A Fistful of Boomstick
The Warriors
Sly 3 - Honor Among Thieves
Max Payne 2 - The Fall of Max Payne
Final Fantasy VII - Dirge of Cerberus
Virtua Fighter 4 - Evolution
Devil May Cry 2
Goldeneye - Rogue Agent
Soul Calibur II
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell - Pandora Tomorrow
Grandia III (Disc 1)
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell - Chaos Theory
Final Fantasy X-2
Legend of Spyro - Dawn of the Dragon
Star Ocean - Till The End of Time (Disc 2)
Ar Tonelico II - Melody of Metafalica
Yakuza
Stuntman
Virtua Tennis 2
Jak II
God Hand
Devil May Cry
Shadow of the Colossus
Legacy of Kain - Soul Reaver
Hitman 2 - Silent Assassin
Aggressive Inline
Zone of the Enders
Castlevania - Lament of Innocence
Grandia II
Metal Gear Solid 3 - Subsistence (Disc 1)
Metal Gear Solid 3 - Subsistence (Disc 2)
Resident Evil - Code Veronica
Dark Cloud

"R-Type Final" and "Battle Engine Aquila" should be the next two to get added (In a few hours probably).

Any chance I could pinch a link too please? I may not need many as I have a few things running via Launchbox already :)

The saturn emulation (via retroarch) in Launchbox is working well for me on most games. I love my shmups and the saturn is a dream system for that.

I just realised I can plug the controller from the mini snes into a wiimote and bluetooth it to my PC. :o D As much as I like those 8bitdo pads the dpads suck on them and this feels way more authentic for nintendo games.

Saturn emulation is something I really need to sit down and get working properly. Still getting issues with a lot of games, but I think it's just a config issue.

I'm using Retroarch and the medafen_saturn_liberto core. Works well. Was playing Batsugun, Hyperduel, Battle Garegga and Athlete Kings. All working well, with a saturn overlay. Have 197 Saturn games working now. Couple I can't find decent dumps of to get working at the min.

Most of my Saturn games were having issues (Just not loading). I'm putting that down to emuparadise (Where I got them) having a strange mix of formats and ways of them being presented. I've done a little digging tonight and found a fix that's worked for the 2 or 3 games I've tried so far. I'm gonna go through them all tomorrow night and get them working I think.

With that in mind I've taken the Saturn folder out of the upload I'm doing (It's not even gotten to them yet anyway) until I can get them working. Then I'll move it back in and see how it goes.

I'm also missing some key Saturn games as well. Burning Rangers for example. Gonna have to do a quick check and see what else might be missing.

Ah man, I get so confused over all the file formats for CD systems D: Especially when you get more than one file for a game.

Retroarch can be a nuisance in that it will happily play many formats but won't arrange them all into the UI game list, so you have to load the individual file every time. Had this problem with my own ripped PS1 EBOOTS from PSN downloads.

It's one of the benefits of a front-end like launchbox. I just point it at the appropriate file and it does the rest.

I had to manually compile a lot of my PS1 games into bin and cue files as emuparadise stored them in a weird format. Seems to be a similar situation with their Saturn games.

ECM?

Pretty sure that was the one. Was trying to get them to work on my Pi at the time and I had to convert extract the archives, convert all the wave files, then compile it all into a BIN with an appropriate CUE file. Pain in the arse and took ages, but they work much better now.

I have a program that converts the ECM files, UNecm I think it's called.

Yeah I found the ones I needed for PS1 stuff at the time.

Saturn files are in bizarre bin/cue/iso/wav combinations which gives an "Uncollated data at sector 0" error in Retroarch. Found a way to fix them though using a program called CDMage which essentially repackages the bin and cue files together. Seems to work so far.

I just saw on youtube 8bitdo are releasing PCBs for original game pads that you can swap out to make them bluetooth, really clever idea and you can still keep the original cords in a drawer - nothing gets destroyed in the process.

Don't think I'll bother but what a clever idea eh.

8bitdo stuff is great, if you use an emulator you really should pick up one of their pads, they look great and the performance is flawless.

I have their stuff, my main complaint has always been the loose dpad that floats around on both that I have, the PCB on an original pad would sort that.
