To be fair that is running on a 980 with 16GB ram and an 8-core CPU and is still a bit slow, but its coming along nicely. I was about to post the Goldblum video, but realised I had already posted it this page.

I tried android emulation, then thought why should I play shitty f2p mobile games on PC - it really highlights how egregious most of them are.

I also finally bought a PC copy of NFSU2 as I enjoyed it so much on Dolphin that I wanted to play it properly.

Volition have given away their cancelled Saints Row PSP game for free, playable on PPSSPP:

EDIT: I can see why they cancelled it.

I've only just noticed OpenEmu 2.0 was released at the end of the year and they've moved a few more systems such as Playstation and N64 into the stable release. Has anyone given it a go? I remember trying a few N64 games in the experimental release about a year ago and there were a lot of issues. There was some pretty big breakthroughs with windows N64 emulators during 2015 so I'm hoping they've managed to really polish it up.

Edit: Got home and downloaded it, and the N64 emulation is a massive improvement over the experimental build! Tried some stuff that still won't work like Episode I Racer and Rogue Squadron, and Banjo Kazooie runs way too fast but Goldeneye, Diddy Kong Racing, Turok, Pilotwings, Blast Corps and Jet Force Gemini all seem to work pretty smoothly. I can't get the PS emulator running, says I'm missing the BIOS files. I remember that being a hassle for 1.0 but I got it running eventually. Can't remember how.

Incredible that emulators have caught up with current-gen.

3DS emulation needs to happen, I appreciate that without the actual DS screen the 3D effect would be lost but afaik the 2DS has no issues running games sans 3D so there's no reason some clever individual couldn't get an emulator working.

At least one regular DS emulator is available called DeSmuME but last I remember very few games actually worked on it. This was a couple of years back now and maybe things have changed since.

What's good for emulating the Speccy on Windows these days? Used to use ZX32 but it hasn't had a proper update in ages and i seem to recall that it's pretty cranky under Win 7.

Retroarch probably?

Got retropie up and running, a little prone to hard locks but for a matchbox sized budget computer I can forgive that.

Ended up with the Windows version of FUSE. Not a fan of these fancy hi-falutin' multiple system emulators.

Retropie is pretty neat but it's more for the playing of games than I had in mind right now.

Retropie is definitely my new favourite way to play retro games. If I'm ever staying at my mum's or whatever I can chuck that sucker in a rucksack and not feel the weight of it that I would a laptop. Just a shame N64 performance is balls but its always been an odd system to emulate.

Does anyone know why my Dolphin refuses to play Smash Bros... Brawl(? - the wii one) at the proper speed? Every time I play it it's like it's running at 50FPS rather than 60 so everything looks/feels slower than it does on the Wii. I've googled around and everyone says it emulates fine now so I'm trying to figure out if I've just got something set up slightly wrong (or if I've just got the wrong ISO, but I've tried it with both the 4GB one and the 8GB with all the cutscenes...)

Is your computer powerful enough to emulate it at full speed?

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I assume so as it doesn't have a problem with anything else. It's literally just Smash Bros that runs smoothly but slowly
