Its playable, even with the microstutters (Like when you attack something and it freezes for a split second) really does look lovely.

Brerlappin wrote:The microstutter is caused by the game compiling a shader cache as you play. You can get around that by downloading a precompiled shader cache. I wont link to it as that is technically illegal and gooseberry fool, but its almost like you could go to reddit, search for the cemu shadercache forum, and download it from there.

I think the game came with one cause when I load it up it loads a shader cache before going to the main menu.

It wont have one, id almost 100% guarantee it. What its doing is loading the cache youre building as you play. CEMU always loads a shader cache when loading even if you dont have a pre-existing one dnwnloaded. You can download a cache of 19k shaders on reddit which will really help with stuttering. Id bet when you load the game its loading a cache of maybe a few hundred, or a thousand shaders. That wont be enough to help too much with stuttering, only in areas youve already visited.

Compiling that 19k cached shader now so see if that helps. Downloaded some for Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D which both work spot on apart from some sound glitches with music in SM3D.

So that trick has deffo improved FPS, ta Brer. Cutscenes still don't work unfortunately though, even with 1.7.4. Oh well, a small price to pay!

EDIT: aaaaand for some reason in shrines everything is super sped up.

Odd

Have a search for Cemu hook 0.4.0.0, that worked for me with cutscenes.

Downloaded a load of graphics packs and boy does Super Mario 3D look lovely in 4K.

Got some to try out on Zelda too (Pic is before getting any)

So I made it off the starting plateau in Zelda. It's essentially fully playable at this point, although the FPS wobbles around the 20-30 range outside of shrines.

It's an incredible achievement really.

Have just started using Cemu and got Mario Kart 8 running well in game but some menus don't display the text and the trophies being awarded. Is there a fix? Can the DLC be added and played too?

Is there a best place to get more games already with their graphics packs?

Can't remember where but I found a site that had every graphics pack available. I know that's not much help sorry

Using Cheat Engine, Breath Of The Wild is now running if its at 60fps which is great, played a good 2 hours using it just now and no problems so far.

Wow! That's incredible. I'm happy with it on Switch - and there's no way my laptop is good enough! - but I'd love to play it on 'ultra settings' (like, 4K & 60 fps) one day.

I've tried this, and while the frame rate is better it speeds up the game, do you know if theres a way around it or is it an inherent issue?

Whelp, cheat engine just filled up my C drive so had to get rid of it. Hopefully there will be an in emulator fix at some point, it's amazing how close to perfect it is but the framerate does annoy me just a little too much. Shame.

Filled up with what? Because I'd done a fresh install of Windows on the SSD I'd put in I had to start afresh with Cemu as I'd only saved the games themselves.

Some files in a temp folder. Gigs and gigs worth. Not sure what they were for.

You can set us your own Temp folder so it's easier to delete but it is supposed to delete when closed and I know mine does cause I've just checked the temp folder and it was empty after using it today.

Hmm, i closed the application and uninstalled it because i was concerned at the time and i still had to delete it manually. Either way, i don't mind it using a lot of the drive if it's going to give it back, but it filled it up which slowed everything down more than it was before.

I'm jealous of all you guys emulating Wii U and GameCube, it took a lot of tweaking for me to get even ePSXe running games at an acceptable level on my laptop

I did give Dolphin a whirl recently for curiosity's sake and while games would boot up they weren't even close to playable.

Now I'm not sure it adds temp files on mine. Checked the temp folder while it was in use and was still empty.

On Cemu 1.7.5, really need to save all my Cemu data when updating, had to start from the beginning again in all my games. The drops from 60fps in Breath Of The Wild were to big a drop before climbing back to 60fps and that's something I hate in games, either lock it to 30fps or 60fps for me. So now have it locked at 30 @ 4K with Hi-Res Shadows using the cheat engine trick (use Rivatuner to lock Cemu to 10fps and set CE to 2.3 and from the 2 hours I played earlier the only drops in frames I noticed was when I'd use bombs to blow up camps that had explosive barrels.

The only 3 games I have downloaded are Mario 3D, Mario Kart and Breath Of The Wild. What else is worth trying out from the Wii U? I have that Wii U USB Helper which has a huge list of games I think I can download through.

Nabbed Wind Waker HD, looks lovely at 4k downsampled with hi-res shadows and reduced bloom. Also got a couple of others to try (Pikmin 3, Mario Bros U and Super Smash Bros)
