I do, but think it's monthly rather than the 12 month sub. I'd originally got it so I could move a chunk of my video files onto it and watch them anywhere, but Plex is weird about it so I ended up not using it for a month or two.

This seems like a decent use.

Yeah, please don't share it. It was either make it available to whoever has the link, or ask you all for your email addresses.

For the same price each year you can get 5TB on OneDrive, plus it includes Office 365, so I'd probably be tempted to sign up to that as a backup source more than Google.
I really should actually get a proper backup solution really. I've been lucky so far with Hard Drives but that luck is not going to last forever.

Recently have been looking at attempts of improving the frame rate in older games to make them run/look smoother. This tends to not work so well it seems, at least without some tinkering, because lots of things in games are tied to the frame rate and so changing it breaks them. 30fps OoT on Wii VC (not sure about N64) actually works on console if you tinker with the code, and it looks great, but it messes up game mechanics. 60fps is too laggy and mechanically breaks the game still (of course).

Of course, I can play OoT at 30fps on 3DS anyway.

Looked into other games too but today I found this which was released recently:

An 60fps patch for SM64, that apparently now has no gameplay issues in this new iteration. Tried it out (very easy to) and it's pretty sweet.

I've gotten just over 50 stars in Mario 64 60fps and it's an absolute delight! No way in hell I'm ever going back to the regular version now.

I've tried it on both RetroArch N64 emulators with the following quirks:

ParaLLEl: Unfortunately this would crash whenever I tried to save the game. Might be due to settings I have, if you try it on this emu maybe stick to default options to be safe.

Mupen: Mostly perfect, though weirdly much of the environmental + UI visuals screw up whenever I enter the vanish cap area under the moat. I had to get round this by using a save state there, quitting the game and reloading. Seems to be something weird when the game tries to load that area, as it pauses longer than usual during a level transition.

Otherwise it's been a treat on Mupen, some of the animations are still capped at 30 but to play M64 with such fluidity is a dream come true

EDIT: I've also tried Diddy Kong Racing and Mario Kart 64 60fps, though in those cases it was action replay codes + emulator overclock. DKR wasn't a constant 60 (usually dropped when other racers were on screen) but god those pockets of full frame rate were glorious <3 From what I tried, MK64 seemed pretty much perfect:

MK64 codes here, DKR one here

In upload news, you will now find Lynx and Amiga folders, full of games.

The Hacks and Translations folder (Which doesn't really have much of either to be honest), is finished uploading. There you'll find "Newer Super Mario Bros Wii", as well as a load of MSU-1 patched and enhanced SNES ROMS. Make sure you have an emulator (such as Higan/BSNES or SNES9x) and a PC capable of running them (They can be far more demanding than a basic SNES game).

For those interested in what games will be coming down the line, I've exported my Launchbox collection to a Google Sheet page.

You can see that here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

Bear in mind that this is just what's being uploaded (Apart from the Windows games, as it's just reading my Steam library for that). For most of these systems I have much more indepth selections in another folder. If something you want is missing from the list, let me know and I'll see if I have it somewhere else.

EDIT: If you highlight row 1 then click the "Data" menu, choosing "Filter Views">"Create new temporary filter view" will allow you to filter and sort the table to see what you want.
It's read only so don't worry about changing or deleting anything.

I was thinking about it, I can't really get mad at Nintendo they are well within their rights to protect their IPs. But in my opinion the reality is that it's made obscure niche releases that have no chance in hell of being rereleased harder to find, but you are always going to find first party Nintendo games somewhere else because it's Nintendo and people want their Mario. So it's just really unfortunate.

I'm glad I got to use emuparadise while it was up, it was an excellent archive. :(

Nice new Dreamcast emulator on the scene. Works pretty much out of the box for a lot of games without the need for a bios. Currently has issues with the Windows CE games.

Redream. Worth looking at, so easy to use. For the 4k, licence key version, it asks for a $5 fee.

Gutted emuparadise went, used it for years. Do know a few places that do bits and bobs but that was the most comprehensive I knew of.

So as the "Great-Upload of 2018"TM continues I thought I'd start to highlight some of the stuff you might be able to find already.

Lynx

Marlboro Go!
Back in more innocent times it was perfectly acceptable for Tobacco companies to sponsor products. In this case it was an Motocross game, designed for being played at an event. It's not a particularly good game, but it's an interesting curio.

Amiga

The Cinemaware Collection (Wings, It Came From The Desert, The King of Chicago, Rocket Ranger)
Even as someone who never owned an Amiga, I remember seeing screenshots of some of these games and being amazed at how fantastic they looked. Cinemaware games had a unique look that just captured the imagination. They strike me as what Rockstar (Or even Team Bondi) might have been doing if they were around back then. Cinematic, story based games with amazing production values. ICFTD also got a port to the PC Engine/TurboGrafx CD.

Hack & Translations

Newer Super Mario Bros Wii - Wii (Hack)
An entirely "New" fan made NSMB game for the Wii. Completely custom levels, maps and music. If you're itching for some more Mario, this is a decent place to start.

PS2
Some of the PS2 games are still uploading so I can't guarantee these are up just yet.

Gradius V - PS2
Phenomenal game that barely made an impact when it released. Treasure's take on the classic series manages to stay respectful to what made them amazing games to begin with, but throws in Treasure's unique ability to make memorable boss fights. Bought this on release and it's easily the PS2 game I'm happiest I own. Essential.

Gregory Horror Show - PS2
A bizarre, horror puzzle/adventure game set in a strange hotel, populated by even stranger individuals. Each one has their own story and you need to unravel their secrets in order to secure their souls, allowing you to escape. Just don't let the Nurse catch you!
