Yeah I found the ones I needed for PS1 stuff at the time.

Saturn files are in bizarre bin/cue/iso/wav combinations which gives an "Uncollated data at sector 0" error in Retroarch. Found a way to fix them though using a program called CDMage which essentially repackages the bin and cue files together. Seems to work so far.

What madness is this?

Considering Saturn games were on standard CD-ROMs I always assumed they'd be ripped as an iso file.

Unless of course the hardware did something weird with the data, like compiling everything separately then reassembled it on the fly - which knowing how crazy SEGA were at the time is probably fairly close to the truth.

Interesting, I have 2 pads from them and neither has a loose dpad. A bad dpad would be gooseberry fool, it was one of the reasons I got their controller in the first places instead of using a 360 pad.

Here's some footage from SEGA's Saturn technology department at the time:

That's exactly how I imagine it.

I'm being VERY nitpicky, but it's the sort of thing that can sometimes register diagonals instead of straight directions.

Yeah I had a pretty rotten experience with an 8bitdo pad, namely due to sync issues and indeed a terrible dpad. My original impressions at the time:

Original 8bitdo FC30 impressions wrote:- The dpad's proving terribly inaccurate for Street Fighter, with unintended directions frequently registering. Just moving between left and right causes many jumps and crouches.

- I've had a bugger of a time trying to connect it to the Switch, often getting no dice on the sync screen and sometimes not linking up even after I've gone through that process. Especially maddening when going between using it on PC and then on Switch.

- The USB lead it came with would only charge the pad and nothing more, I had to use my mobile's charge cable to update the firmware or play games with it on PC.

- I'm not keen on the face buttons, they're not particularly easy on the thumb and require more force compared to the pro controller or joycons.

- Perhaps most alarming of all, today my Switch starting locking with an error message when I'd turn the pad on to connect it

Until I desynced and resynced the controller, I was getting this error every time I'd try to hook up the FC30. As of now the controller's linked up fine, but it wouldn't surprise me if this came up again in the future or I'd have trouble connecting it again.

Have heard other positive impressions like Rax's though so maybe it's a mix of mileage and/or build quality varying.

I am having no issues with the games I play in retroarch but a lot are ccd as mentioned above the bin/cue isos give the data error most of the time. I have 187 so far working straight in retroarch using the core I mentioned.

I assume the reason they are doing these PCBs it that they can't get their own plastic molds up to the same par.

If I couldn't sync my SNES classic controller with my PC over a wiimote I'd probably try one of those PCBs but I'm not going to bother.

I really am gonna miss emuparadise, tried grabbing metroid prime trilogy from one site and the download started a .exe file YIKES! Found another and it's gonna take 6 hours.

Maybe I should just get the Wii U download version but like hell am I hooking that thing up again. This is about convenience not money. Put it out on switch. :(

More likely tooling, as that alone for something as simple as a two part controller shell can cost a fortune. A pcb on the other hand can be ordered and manufactured by a third party with no start-up cost to yourself.

Ah that sucks man.

I've paused the main upload and I'm manually uploading my copy of it, which should be ready in three hours if you can wait for it.

You imply that there was any kind of schedule to begin with.

It was uploading random folders so being able to actually provide something someone wants is a nice change. Plus it saves me uploading it later.

Aw well thanks dude.

I should have grabbed it earlier but I didn't anticipate this blitz on sites.

The thing is if Nintendo pledged to have their full back catalogue for sale with a guarantee that buying a license means you get to play that game on any future console I'd waste LOADS of money. But they don't think that way. Oddly Microsoft are the only ones to get that right and even then it's only because they had to stand out. It sucks.

No problem bud.

I'll pm you when it's done, which (As long as there's no problems) should be around 10:45 tonight.

Well I just tested my dolphin bar with Mario Galaxy 2 and it works as well as an actual Wii so I will try and give the prime series a proper go tomorrow.

NO STOPPING THE WEEK OF METROID

First world problem but nothing worse than having 80mb/s of bandwidth and seeing this:

Your upload will beat that download, i'll just cancel it ¬_¬

It's been "officially" discontinued by the creator, but there are ways around it.

I find it good to get Wii U and 3DS games, but I've never gotten Wii games from it. You're limited to whatever was on the eShop essentially.

I find Wii U USB Helper a little fiddly as well. Once it's set up it's quite simple, but it's not for everyone.

In upload related news, Metroid Prime Trilogy is now available in the Wii folder.

Also, I've paused the sync for now and I'm manually adding some of the smaller folders. You'll now find completely uploaded folders for:

Atari 2600
Atari Jaguar
Amstrad CPC
BBC Micro
NEC TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine
NES

I've also added in the WiiWare and Virtual Console folder from my main Google Drive. This isn't my own compilation, but it contains every (At least I think it's every) WiiWare and Virtual Console title for the Wii across different regions. There's also DLC for a lot of them in there too.

The BBC Micro section also contains a folder with thousands of Beeb games. I uploaded it as not all the ones in the main folder worked when I tried them, so there are alternative versions here for most things. Amongst them you'll find this piece of nightmare fuel (For those of us of a certain age).
