You might want to blame idiots like Photek for intentionally baiting people and derailing the topics into those particular arguments in the first place.

Anyway, I need to get round to trying Dolphin. I gather I can just use the files I've ripped onto my HDD from my Wii, might have a fiddle with it tomorrow.

Here, have some pictures. Metroid Prime opening:

That's all on my midtier rig. Emulation is CPU heavy. I'm not even running it on high settings and the settings can be lowered on less powerful cpu's.

Metroid Prime still looks good.

I'm going to give this a shot on my iMac. If it works well then I'll pick up a controller.

Should I use a 360 pad or a Gamecube pad with a usb converter?

I use a 360 controller. The emulator even gives you rumble on your 360 pad.

The smaller games, like wiiware stuff run really well. Here's some Zelda Four Swords and Resident Evil Remake.

Remake is creepy as strawberry float, it has aged well, also took a shot of the higher res door of course. And how the hell do ninty make such great games like Four Swords, the art style

The previous build I was running wouldn't run Resident Evil 1 for me and Four Swords, the new one is more stable I guess seeing as I can now run those two games.

If nothing else it shows that certain developers were able to get a hell of a lot out of that little purple box.

Yawn, Wii U's out this year so playing Wii/Gamecube games for the first time is just...

Does this even support motion plus? This thread just verifies that the PC is still prime at being nothing but awkward, expensive and the 'eventually' system for eventually gamers.

Take your pointless trolling elsewhere BS. You really are a sad character.

Oh and the Wii U is not out this year, 2012 at the earliest.

Yeah I meant next, but this isn't trolling. Gamecube games for the first time, really? You people claim you like games?

Dolphin has been out for a number of years (pre the launch of the Wii), this is just the latest version with some larger updates.

'I've tried out version 3.0 which strawberry floating rocks. In Metroid Prime where I was getting a lot of drops in fps, I'm now getting increased fps. Better performance, less glitches I've seen in games.'

Took its time to get anywhere then.

We do this thing called replaying games. But sometimes replaying them on the original platform isn't so good any more. Perhaps SD resolutions no longer cut it, or we no longer own the relevant console. Or even silly things like the controller doesn't fit in your hands like it did when you were 14. Or maybe some people never owned a Gamecube, and now get to play all these amazing games they missed out on.

Wow, those Galaxy screens look lovely

Really hope Nintendo do a Galaxy all stars remastered in HD. I'd settle for that as the Wii-U main launch title any day.
