Steel Diver
Super Street Fighter IV

Want to add Pokémon Ruby+Y and Smash Bros too although those are finicky in needing update files of sorts

Well I know what I'll be doing this weekend now.

I've had Citra waiting to be installed for ages but haven't had any luck finding roms for it anywhere, are they all decrypted?

I can't say for Jazzems but the ones I've uploaded are.

Mine should be, ripped them straight from my own carts! Citra seems to run them no problem as far as I can tell

Unfortunately, due to hitting my own Google Drive storage limits I've only uploaded the following:

Cave Story 3D
Mario & Luigi - Paper Jam
New Super Mario Bros. 2
Pilotwings resort
Shinobi
Steel Diver
Rhythm Paradise Megamix

PM me if you want any more from the original list Ironhide :)

Yeah I saw. Cheers man. :D

Considering getting myself a GPD XD Plus for on the go emulation shenanigans. Anyone had any experience of these? Most of the impressions I can find seem pretty positive on them.

Yeah I've ordered it.

Should have it tomorrow so we'll see how I get on with it.

In upload related news there is a Mame 0.188 (I think it was 0.188) Romset uploaded. It doesn't contain the CHD files as a full set of them is about half a terabyte and well, strawberry float that.

If I can find a more up to date set (0.201 is the newest one) I'll replace it with that.

So my GPD XD Plus came last night and I've spent a little time playing with it. I'm fairly impressed, though it really is just an Android tablet with some decent controls attached.

Slowly setting up all my emulators, and the 128Gb SD Card I've put in it means I can have a decent chunk of my PS1 games, all my Mega CD games as well as the prerequisite GB, SNES, Mega Drive stuff.

System wise the build quality is pretty nice. All the buttons and such seem ok so far, the case is pretty sturdy and the screen is nice and bright. The hinge does creak horribly when you open it but I'm hoping that'll ease with time and use.

It does come with some built in software, but the first thing I did was to install a custom ROM on the recommendation of every other user I could find. It strips out all the bloatware and potentially dodgy Chinese app stores.

Google play works nicely to get the emulators and other assorted apps I needed. Some of the emulators are fine through Retroarch, but ePSXe is essential for PS1 emulation. I've not really tried anything more demanding like N64, Dreamcast or PSP yet but I'll give that a shot over the next few days.

There's a good source port for Doom as well and that runs beautifully.

A nice side benefit was that I can access any games I'd bought for my phone on this, which includes all the GTA games so I've been enjoying Vice City this afternoon.

Oh and downloading Google Drive means I can access my entire library wherever I have WiFi access. :datass:

Let me know what you think of the gpd, I've come close to ordering one loads. Apparently there is a lot of Chinese bloatware - as in the default emulators aren't great. But I guess you could install whatever you want on it and there is Android retroarch.

I use the paid version of FPSE for Android PS1 emulation, can't say I've ever had any problems.

Out of curiosity, can you crank the resolution up on PS1 emulation at all without issue?

I do on PCSXR, but I think the key thing is to not mess with the aspect ratio too much, that's when things get weird.

Yeah I meant to say that I'd heard FPSE is good as well.

The only issue I'm having so far is Retroarch playing nice with the GameSome frontend I'm using. It's a bit inconsistent in when it will or won't save the config settings I've used, but that's general tweaking at this point.

I've heard Dolphin can run some games reasonably well if you get the right settings for it, so I'll be looking into that as well. I'm not expecting too much from it though.

Ah ace! I could imagine PS1 emulation looking amazing at even just 2x internal res on a small screen.

And yeah forcing 16:9 in emulation can be messy. I've decided to keep it on when playing Spider-Man 2 on Dolphin recently, the trade-off being you see lots of pop in+out in the expanded area that would've been hidden in 4:3

Q. Has anyone used a PSP Go as an emulator device and how difficult is it to set up? Always think the machine looks cool and a small dedicated handheld just to play emulators with real controls interests me.formmy bag if I can get one cheap enough.

Installing the custom firmware can be a pain, depending which official firmware you're starting from. But so long as you follow a guide it's pretty plain sailing. There's a PSP build of Retroarch, and obviously it runs PS1 games (converted to .eboots) natively, which should pretty much cover all your bases.

The caveat is, it's a strawberry floating awful console to hold. Five minutes of those raptor claws gives me cramps like all Hell. It does have a TV-Out function and Dualshock 3 connectivity, but honestly I'd recommend any older model over it.

The only thing that put me off re-purposing my PSP was the lack of additional shoulder buttons and the screen isn't quite as impressive as it once was.

Did try Metal Gear Ac!d on my GPD last night and it ran beautifully. Gonna get some more PSP games on there I think.

I have a gpd xd, not really touched it for a while tho. Need to set it up properly but launchbox has been eating up my spare time when not at work. Been doing art, carts and game info for games nothing for, which is a lot and is bleeding time consuming.

Launchbox is a blackhole for time. I've lost entire weekends to getting everything imported with appropriate box art and stuff. Great fun though.
