[Wii] Fatal Frame 4 translation patch out!

Patch removing region lock for Fatal Frame IV surfaces

Some crafty folks have issued a homebrew English translation patch for Fatal Frame IV, and removes the region lock.

Created by fansite Beyond the Camera’s Lens, the patch not only removes the Japanese text in Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, but enables the Japanese disc to be loaded on regions locked Wiis.

It also runs from an SD card on any Wii without the need for modding, according to Joystiq.

This is wonderful news for those who’ve been crying into their pillows since Tecmo revealed in June that FF4 would never leave Japan.

Cheer up kiddos. Go blow your noses, wipe away those tears, buy the Japanese version and download the patch through here.

Now anyone, with any kind of Wii, can play Fatal Frame 4 (Project Zero 4) in English, as long as they have an SD card. Due to some fancy technical magic you don't even need to have hacked your Wii, just pop in the game and away you go!

I'm suddenly not feeling so bad about updating my Nintendo Wii. I thought I'd never be able to play this again!

Must admit, though...I'm kind of irritated that it ever had to come to this.

Really look forward to that. Are you playing it as per the translation patch ? - in which case you must have been very prepared !

I played through the game without the patch, and I loved it tremendously. Not understanding everything did make the game somewhat repetitive by the end, mind; I suspect a fuller understanding of the story would make deepen the interest.

Holy moly, that's brilliant! I still need to play 2 and 3 though. Does 4 follow on from them or not? And will Nintendo definitely make this patch busted with a new update or not? I don't wanna buy a £40 game that'll be unusable in a month or two.
