If I wanted to change direction, I used the "quick turn" button.

Fair enough... but would those controls be as intuitve if the camera was static?

Wrong in so many ways...

Such as? Are you saying that RE5 is better than REOutbreak? I haven't even played it yet, but I'm hoping the PS3 will significantly reduce the load times. What else is wrong with it?

I've never been sure about this issue, since I don't find the controls to be at all restrictive - if anything, the 'problem' has always been the static camera angles and the central conceite that you have to stand and shoot (and obviously, straffing would be highly inappropriate). The classic controls even have lock-on as default. What more do you want?

To say that the controls are intentionally fuzzy implies that you can't or are not meant to get good at it, which is perhaps misleading?

I've had that dream , Uppa - very intense it was, too...

The static cameras add so much to the game..... the same as a horror movie, not knowing wht is coming yet you can hear it is the worst type of fear....

As for RE5, Outbreak shouldnt even be mentioned alongside RE5....you will know what I mean when you play it.

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

Yes, that's what I've been saying. My point was about people saying that the resi controls are intentionally borked to make the game more scary, but I disagree - the scares come more from the static camera, which is why the latter resies just weren't scary. Do you agree with that?

It doesn't look like I'll be playing this anytime soon after all... so why don't you explain it to me - WHAT'S WRONG WITH REOutbreak?!

Weren't all of those complaints levelled at RE0 and a few even at RE5? I've never had an issue with partner AI before, since most such games allow simple instructions - 'stay-here' or 'follow me' and whatnot - that work well enough if you bother to use them appropriately (no aspersions).

As for the controls, from what little I saw of the emulated mess I made, it seems as though capcom got rid of the tank controls, having characters simply move in whichever direction is pressed? Is that right, or did I imagine that? If it is the case, isn't that what everyone wants?
