Instead of issuing a takedown notice and forbidding all access to the product, why not adopt the remake, give it the Nintendo QA treatment and release it officially on your eShops? It would go a long way toward mitigating any damage that Federation Force might be doing to the franchise, too.

Someone listened!

Where's the best place to keep an eye on for an announcement on who's doing the ultra mega spesh edish of Samus Returns? That big GB cart looks strawberry floating delicious.

Trying to get to her with all this gooseberry fool flying around and the slowdown though :dread:

OG Metroid beaten :datass:

Was fun. Much like Metroid 2 there's a lot of repetition in room/area design so it's easy to get lost without a map. Seeing the first incarnations of Kraid and Ridley was good, even if they do look weedy. Metroids still looked awesome though. Annoyingly had to go back and get the ice beam again to kill them as well :x

Good job Hypes!

One day I'll get round to Metroid and finish Adventure of Link as well.

It's quite short, and as long as you know where you're going, you shouldn't die much. Give it a go! :toot:
Now just Other M to do for the home console Metroids :D

Have been playing some Other M but I'm on holiday for a bit so I'm now playing Super Metroid. I thought I'd try out some sequence breaking and some speedrunning tricks. I've managed to get myself to Kraid early so I'm pleased with that. I'll probably end up stuck somewhere and have to go all the way back to pick up something I've missed though!

Have also been playing Federation Force. It's actually quite fun, but gets really hard on single player. Much like Tri-Force Heroes I'm sure it's much better with friends

Aye that's one of the most infamous moments in that game for good reason. Other M's declawing of Samus in general was so aggravating :/

Well, that's Other M finished. :datass:
There's an ok game there in between all the cutscenes. Thought it did a good job of transitioning between 3rd and 1st person, and there were some good combat mechanics. Things were a bit easy given all the dodging though, and that story was pretty terrible.
That ending :dread:
and then a weird epilogue to get Adam's helmet wtf?

Meh. Definitely £3's worth in that.

Playing a wee bit of fusion again on the 3DS (Ambassador games). I like that it helps guide you a bit, means I can go from where I stopped when I last played it about a year ago, was all set to have to restart.

I've restarted super Metroid 3 or 4 times as I've just not had a clue where to go.

Folks, need some help. Playing prime again on the trilogy. Got the wave buster and it isn’t there. Has the game glitched or has that been removed?

The purple beam add on? You charge your purple beam up and press the button to fire a missile. I think.

Yeah that makes sense because the super missile is on the standard power beam so I think the other upgrades work the same, charge and fire missile which I think is Y on GameCube.

[BUMP]

Welcome to 2018, Metroid Appreciation Thread.

So back on a bit of Metroid kick after watching a load of videos about the series. Decided it's time to clear off the few unfinished games I have in the series (Metroid, Echoes, Samus Returns and Prime: Hunters) so I've been dabbling with the original Metroid (Save states and a map to make it bearable) and jumped head first into the Prime Trilogy yesterday.

Absolutely love these games and Prime looks stupidly lush at higher resolutions (Playing it on Dolphin).
Metroid is a stubborn, difficult son of a bitch, but I'm starting to expand my load out and I think once I have the Varia Suit and the Wave Beam it should hopefully ease off a little.

I wish.

Seems like a good time to make a start on them though. Chances are we'll have MP4 next year (With any luck) to co-incide with Super Metroid's 25th anniversary, so I want to get them out the way.
