I can't recall there being a fatal bug, SaladMan... was this with UK copies?

My bad, I seem to have misunderstood the nature of the problem. Metroid Prime Trilogy came on a dual layered disc and older Wiis often developed a flaw where they struggled to read such discs.

Yeah, I did a search and also saw that 'disc-read' problem - but I don't think it was particularly common. I was just interested as I thought I would have to check my copy... but that works fine. The Wii U re-release will give me the impetuous to actually play the game :-).

Metroid Prime 2 is the one game I could never finish that I really wish I could. I've finished all 3 Souls games but I just can't manage Echoes. I'm stuck at Emperor Ing.

Definitely buying.

Don't know what to start with. Finished 1 but can't remember too much, never really got anywhere with 2 and never played 3 at all.

:o . I'd forgot that this was launching today! Finally, my realisation that I've been a fool not to play it before will arrive*.

* At least, after I've finished Zelda Ocarina, anyway.

Oh no! This won't fit onto my Wii U Basic.

I suppose I could buy it now and download it later once I've got an external HDD.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Uh-oh... that's a no-go, Octo. There has to be space available to purchase and download a title to the Wii U. But - and I *think* it was Dragon or SpinDash who mentioned this before - you could plug in a USB stick to download it temporarily until you get the hard drive.

I feared that might be the case. Is it possible to run games from a USB stick? I think I have a 16 gig one lying around somewhere.

I've not used a USB stick but it does work; albeit I think the Wii U will need to format it. It'll do the job until you get the HDD, Octo.

Yes...... but the disc will become my 'look and admire' trinket whilst I play it from the hard drive :-).

By hook or by crook, you must play it! I never finished Prime 3 but I'm going to start from 1 and play them over the course of the year alongside other games.

I must confess I only got as far as some X-ray pirate boss fight in Prime which was so awful I gave up and never played the series again.

For £9 I'm willing to give the series a second chance. I'm hoping the "New Play" control method will improve matters.

I've added some information to the OP from the thread on Gaf that people might find useful.

Downloading now. I had a £5 voucher left over from that Nintendo Premium thing, so this is a bargain.

Only 57 minutes remaining on the download status bar :dread:

Downloading :datass:

After Grcade plays Ocarina is done, (and probably after Majoras Mask) (possibly after I've finished Other M) me and Jawa will complete the trilogy.
Its my aim to get him to complete some games (that aren't Sonic/PacMan)!!!
