I doubt it.

What if we arranged for you to do it in zero g?

Can I just fly about like superman instead? Zero g sex sounds like it will just be even more awkward than sex on earth what with all the needing to prop ourselves against things and all the other logistical nightmares. No wonder they aren't doing it on the space station it takes 5 hours just to get ready by which time the mood has been completely destroyed.

Fair enough, good answer.

I think another factor that will sadly discourage us from colonizing other planets is that as more of the world becomes more developed population tends to level off, so we won't really have population growth as a motivating force to get us to another planet.

We will have things like massive ecological devastation to motivate us instead. :)

Well every cloud and all that I suppose.

Although that being said, if we have the technology to fix up Mars, I'm pretty sure we will have the technology to repair whatever bone headed thing we do to Earth...if we live that long. :dread:

I reckon we'll see people to Mars and possibly another planet in our lifetimes. I actually can't wait for Mars to happen. I will probably be really misty eyed about the whole thing. I think we need stuff like this to happen as it may be bring humanity a bit closer together.

Colonisation itself is a long way off.

I definitely can't see this happening. We have the ability to build a moon base and the craft to get people from and too it but I just don't see that happening.

If we did it'd be just another place for our masters to be royally gooseberry fool to us/"others". So I really hope it doesn't happen in my lifetime.

I think SoK was right. Musk will enslave anybody that goes on his Mars adventure.

Thinking about it you almost certainly would be charged utility bills for providing fresh air, so yes, there's plenty of opportunities for corporate entities like Musk to profit from any and all excursions to Mars - seeing as nationally funded space agencies aren't doing it.

To answer the OP question - no way. The scientific challenges are too great. Maybe in the next 200 years, but not the next (checks watch)...40 :(
