Depends how much of a leap we're getting with the next gen tbh. If it's a considerable jump to better hardware then I'm in. Probably not on launch, but maybe within the first 6 months.

The next Xbox has to be an absolute stone cold classic for the ages to tempt me into remaining with the brand. The Xbone is comfortably the worst console I’ve ever owned, for all the reasons everyone knows about by now.

Probably pick up the PS5 during the launch window as Sony has consistently been my primary console, even back in the days when I ran all 3. I just much prefer their exclusives. Of course I'll have to see what's announced etc.

Also Microsoft has shat the bed something fierce this gen, but that's a story we've all heard before.

Almost definitely, I'm enjoying gaming more and more as the years go on. Each console this generation has offered something that gives them value to me, the Switch has Nintendo's usual peerless first party output and the hybrid console is perfect for my needs. All it needs is a good FPS multiplayer shooter and I wouldn't need anything else. Sony's first party output has been simply fantastic. The X1 is the obvious weak link but MS have done and incredible job with backwards compatibility and the X1X is a wonderful looking bit of kit.

For me it's a time thing, as much as I like gaming I'm also a keen golfer and weight lifter. There is no way that I can justify owning all these consoles so I'd really like to give one of them a miss.

Building a new PC is a priority before any new consoles for me.

If Sony's first party quality is consistently great for the PS5 and it remains the home of series like Yakuza and Persona that don't come to PC, I'll likely end up getting one a few years after it's released when you can pick it up for the price you can get a PS4 now. I bought my Xbox One just for the backwards compatibility program so unless Microsoft pull a complete U-turn with their own studios, I'll probably pass on that.

Definitely a PS5 and most likely an Xboner 2 as with both I have a PS4 Pro and Xbox One X to trade in towards them.

Once it becomes worth my while to do so, yes.

I owned PS4 for a few months this gen, I doubt I will manage that next gen.

That said if the right game comes along I am sure I will take the plunge.

I'm really not sure. My son will undoubtedly want a new one at some point but I hardly play games now. I'm still in the habit of buying certain games and hardly play them. I just don't get the same gratification that I once got from playing games where I could spend an entire day on one game or play to the early hours of the morning.

For the first time, I can see myself not going for the next generation of consoles. A Switch might follow in a year or two, and maybe a PS4 for FIFA with my brother, but after that I can't see myself investing any further. My XBox is a glorified Netflix and Rock Band machine now.

If I do it would probably be a PS5 only; i'd rather upgrade my pc and get future forza games on that as its the only thing except for backwards compatibility keeping my xbone apart from its use as the default netflix machine, even though the ps4 does it all too.

I normally end up getting the next Playstation, but i only do so around 12-18 months after launch as by then, the bigger games are starting to arrive and a lot of the early hardware bugs have been ironed out.

I'll probably go for the PS5, due to the fantastic exclusive games that Sony have offered up this gen. The decision would certainly be made easier if Sony implement some sort of BC functionality. It is not a feature that I am that concerned about, but it does make transitioning from one generation to the next a little less painful. Just PS4 compatibility would be fine, I suppose a comprehensive solution would be nice, but I couldn't see myself playing anything from older generations for more than a few minutes. I could see them providing an option for 1,2 and 4 games, however, I think 3 would be a sticking point due to its esoteric architecture.
If I was going to invest in something from MS I would much rather put the money towards a PC.

Upgrading my PC this year, which will set me up for another three years or so before I need to switch out the GPU. I may get a Switch at some point if it goes around the £200 mark in order to replace my 3DS.

I will not be buying any new PS or Xbox, not because I don't think they don't have good games, just that there is only such time I can split between platforms and I cannot justify the price.
