I'll almost definitely get a PS5. When I do that will largely depend on the launch price and launch software. Bar some spectacular launch games I'll probably get one about 1 year into the lifecycle, which has become quite common for me with consoles (don't think I've had a launch day console since PS2).

Does the Switch count?

I haven't taken to this thread because I wasn't sure if the Switch was counted. Nintendo threw a spanner in the works of the 'standard' generational structure by jumping ship from the Wii U quite quickly (absolutely the right decision). The thread poll seemed to agree with me. In any case, market wisdom seems to be that the PS5 and XBox Zero are both coming soon, whereas the Switch has a decent length of time left. It's only just out of its launch period to my mind! See signature.

So... does the Switch count?

At the time I didn't think to add a successor to Switch as the console was and still is relatively new. As there is no news of a full blown successor then little point adding the option.

If the whole thing was that finish I wouldn't like it at all. I like it because it adds a contrast to the rest of the console.

I think the One X is probably my favourite console design but I prefer my One S as I have the teal version that they released. The One X only comes in boring colours.

Sounds fair! (shuffles out again)
