For a low end phone it's pretty much flawless, obviously being a WP it comes with all the usual drawbacks with regards to apps and such, but has a lovely smooth interface and is easy to use. The camera is pretty duff, but you cant expect too much at that price point.

I assume you're looking at the £15 PAYG upgrade deal?

Picked up the 530 for my daughter on Black Friday. At £15 you can't really say no. And best yet, it has come unlocked from CPW.

The weak point about the phone is the screen. It is pretty washed out when sat next to my 920, but then I didn't pay £15 for my 920. It certainly seems responsive and zips along happily so far. I like the fact that the covers are replaceable, which might be necessary quite quickly as the orange cover is unbelievably bright.

Anyone have any yellowing on their 920 or other Nokia? My son's 920 has a yellow strip near the top of his phone and then over time also spread to the middle, now taking up about 60% of the screen. It is about 16 months old so returning it under warranty to Tesco.

Will this be merged with the Windows 10 thread when it launches or will we retain two separate threads?

Eg...

Windows 10 for PC thread
Windows 10 for phone thread

I would say separate.

Saw this thread and thought I'd say that for a budget phone the lumia 635 is really really good.My wife has one now and she loves it .I've had a play around with it and for 75 quid the quality is brilliant and other than the low amount of apps still there aren't really any flaws for the price.

I like that they haven't tried to reinvent the OS for Windows 10 on mobile. Seems like a natural evolution. Can't wait to try it out. :)

It is a great move, it could be the making of Windows Phone, if it all works as well as they demoed (and I dont see why it wont) you images and stuff from phone are on your PC right away and vicversa makes a really user friendly world where you stuff is where you are.

You can create a lot of this now with OneDrive and some effort but to have it just do it is brilliant. iOS should be scared as most of the Apple users are casuals using iPhone but not iMacs or Mac Books to be able to have your snaps on your PC right away and stuff just "sync" up will be very good for normal people and bring a lot of people to the WP world.

Although good, I wonder whether any monopoly committees will have their interest sparked - MS are using their dominance in the PC market to leverage their phone OS.

I don't think anyone's gonna be worried while Windows Phone struggles to reach a 5% market share.

Most likely, they have a tendency on being anti-microsoft whether they are in the wrong or not.

I really like the direction Microsoft is heading with Windows 10, it's looking good on desktop, tablet and phone and provided they embrace extensions I'd even give their new browser a whirl! Excited to try their AR headset too. Feels like they're turning a corner under the new leadership.

There was a time when MS had less than 5% of the computer OS share and look how that turned out! It will be interesting to see what happens.

no with google's way of acting regarding things like youtube and wp i think it would be difficult to have a go at MS currently
