While the opening ceremony isn't until Friday, some events are starting tomorrow, and so here are the details...

Coverage

Team GB

Looking forward to it myself, always end up watching plenty of it, despite not really having much interest in winter sports or participating in any myself. Ice hockey and moguls are my favourite, but I also enjoy bobsleigh, skeletion, ski jump and most of the snowboard and downhill skiing events. Not anticipating too much interest on here, but we'll see. :slol:

I'll watch the snowboarding, 'Big Air' is a new event this year, not bothered about anything else

...apart from curling

I'm looking forward to having this on in the background, way better than the Olympics for my money. I think figure skating is the only sport I don't like watching in it

I hope Bill Oddie is back on commentary again for the prancing about stuff.

(apparently it's not actually Bill Oddie, but it MAY AS WELL BE)

One of my few (very tenuous) claims to fame is that I was in the same year at school as Jenny Jones, the snowboarder who was the first Briton to win a medal on snow and who is part of this years BBC Winter Olympics coverage team.

I am still probably not going to bother watching.

I probably won't see a great deal of the events sadly, as the time difference means a lot of them are broadcast at stupid o'clock and i don't have one of those TV recorder box thingies.

I always like seeing the tournament mascots! Soohorang is "trustworthy and protective"... and he has a pal called "Bandabi" :toot: .

I've been watching some snowboard track racing here on TV which is awesome. I expect there'll be a lot of coverage of this here as the Germans love their winter sports

I will keep an eye out for the joint-Korean ice hockey team's results, but other than that I won't be paying this any attention at all.

Germans love me, always saying hello. "Du Fotze!" they'd shout. Very heartwarming.

I actually quite pleased I was able to get the gist of what you were saying without needing to translate it, those German lessons are sticking with me!
