The rink is basically formed from Elise's frozen tears.

Managed to catch some of this over the weekend, 2 man bobsled ended in a dead heat. I assumed they would do some kind of run off but no, they just hand out 2 gold medals. It was cool to see a dead heat but it was a little odd they didnt try to find a winner.

It'd be great if I could just select an event on iPlayer, I'm only really interested in snowboarding too.

The BBC's coverage has been a bit rubbish this year - it's really difficult to find the event that you want to watch, and having to trawl through a 3 hour programme of coverage to find the one bit you want isn't ideal. Plus the highlight videos are like those awful GIFs you get with random bits of text highlighted for no reason, as well as scrawlings all over the screen for no reason and cringe-worthy commentary.

Yeah the BBC lost the rights to the Olympics to Eurosport. So they are restricted in the amount of content they are allowed to show.

It's a real shame after their excellent coverage in previous years.

That deal doesn't start until 2022, unless I'm missing something.

Yeah, strawberry float her. Imagine practicing for years to just miss the cutoff so that someone like her could show up and basically just dick around.

Men's skiing halfpipe the other night was superb. Fine margins though and some of the falls were pretty bad. I actually got into the curling in the match vs Switzerland (which we lost). Women's ski-cross last night was good too. Shame we don't have more of a winter sports culture here, some of these would be great to see more often.

Ooh, a nice bronze for GB in the snowboarding big air there. That's our best ever medal tally then. :datass:

Woke up early and checking out the Ice Hockey Final (men's); Russia v Germany. The Germans have fought their way back into the match and it's currently 1-1.

I'm not knowledgeable about the sport beyond my experience of playing EA Hockey on the Mega Drive... but this is great fun!

...Muller for Germany! 3-2! Just over three minutes to go...

Edit: dang it! 3-3. Russia equalise whilst down on a power play. Just 55 seconds left!

3-3 at the end of normal time. So, now we'll go into overtime! Four versus four players with sudden death... next goal wins!

Russia win gold! 4-3 Power-play goal!

What a match. Great play from both teams.

Yes, because she is entirely to blame for the way that Olympic qualifying works. Instead of simply insulting the end result, why not protest the actual issue, which is the qualification route to the olympics itself? You can’t blame the athlete for being there really.
