If there are any temporary work agencies around you get to them and they should be able to keep the money coming in till you can find something permanent. Otherwise sign on the dole. You deserve it more than the banana splits that don't even try to work for a living.

Harry Potter years 1-5 was in my mitts, but the discs had vanished. Felt like dishing out some sweet chin music. Then I read the "No abuse signs" and I calmed it down...

I happened to be in a part of Liverpool called Old Swan yesterday. Just so I could say "I was there" I nipped into the local branch of Woolies to see what was left. I don't wish to promote negative scouse stereotypes, but despite the generous 90% discount I saw someone nicking a torch. Blimey!

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Yep, the ammount of theft from Woolies is insane. I had no idea just how brazen thieves were until I stated to work in retail at Woolies but they will steal anything and everything if given half a chance and it just makes me lose faith in my fellow Man.

I saw those signs today in my local, and rather sad, Woolies. I was surprised, as I felt pretty bad for the staff working there, and wouldn't think to give them any hassle on the eve of their redundancies.

How does the woolies sale work over the last few days of the stores opening. My local has got 50% of everything closes on Jan 5th. Will the 60% 70% come in stages ?

by the way good luck to all the woolies staff - it's sad to see an iconic shop go down the toilet !!

Jan the 5th it will go to 70%, then rise throughout the day, but it's prob not worth the risk in waiting, as it will all probabily go by then!

The prices tumble on the last day with the discount reaching 90% in the afternoon but thats when everything worthwhile has been sold.

thanks guys. I'm looking at quite a few boxsets. problem is they're pricey even when it's 50% off - same with the blu rays and some 360 and PS3 games. I'll probably take the plunge when it goes to 70%.

:shifty:

I used to steal the odd stuff from a local Woolies. Back in my school days. Just sweets mainly. Which I would sell on to the other kids. >_>

It's because they never had any CCTV. People would walk in and back out with bags full of stuff. I was just small time.

The Woolies in Plymouth was spooky. It was almost completely empty. The Coke fridges were off, most of the shelves were bare... weird.

It was my local store's last day today, so I popped in to have a look. Bloody horrible.

I saw a copy of Virtua Fighter (PC), priced at 25p. The store's discount had reached 80%, so I could have bought it for 5p, but I would probably have had to queue for an hour.

I'll probably go in for a gander on the last day. Not to buy anything, just to look.
