It's weird to see a team (Japan) not diving or falling to the floor pretending to be in pain all the time.

Lucky England. two soft penalties, a fluke goal and two set pieces. A tighter defense wouldnt give those goals away - this was Panama not Germany, Brazil or Spain. Very poor defending for the Panama goal, four England players ball watching, two of them with thier hands up crying for offside. Poor opposition. Good finish from Lingard though.

This is a great match, particularly if you like goalkeeping howlers.

If it ends 2-2 the Japanese will probably be kicking themselves, they've had very good chances to win it.

Didn't you already get all your predictions for England wrong?

And soft penalties? Ok.

Germany who lost to Mexico.

Brazil who drew with Switzerland and struggled to beat Costa Rica?

Spain who only beat Iran 1-0?

None of those three are terrifying prospects at the moment.

They could be considered "soft" in that any half competent defensive unit would not systematically commit the same foul multiple times in one phase of play, so you can't expect those against a better side. In fairness nobody expected them today because they didn't think Panama would be that stupid, but there you go!

Stones' second goal with that cushioned header across was a thing of beauty. I don't quite get your assertion that snoring from corners makes a team gooseberry fool either (this is at the OP obviously)...

No. They were soft penalties. Tunisia and Panama do not have world class defenders. Defenses later in the tournament will be much better organised.

Germany, Brazil and Spain can step up for big games. If you dont know that then you are a fool.

Snoring from corners costs goals. And in tighter matches that loses games. I didnt say anything about making a team gooseberry fool.

They were absolutely nailed-on penalties. Nobody is arguing the opposition weren’t absolute shite. Yeah, Germany, Brazil and Spain are better. And England were hardly lucky.

If you think 6-1 is “lucky” then you’re an imbecile.

I obviously meant scoring from corners you div

And you say right at the start of your post that set piece goals are a reason why they're lucky, and aren't a result of having a good team executing a well drilled game plan.

I don't remember any of our set piece goals being lucky, Trippier's delivery has been outstanding. He's been our best player over the 1st two games.

Lucky :slol:

They annihilated them. If it was a boxing match it would have been stopped at half time.

Lingard and Henderson(!) have been outstanding too.
