Panama might be poor but under Sven, Capello, Hodgson, we would have struggled to a dull 1-0 win. Teams like France prove how hard it is to convert talent into success in international football, we should absolutely be celebrating this result, not looking for soft penalties and flukes.

Sounds like a case of sour grapes tbh.

He made a set of ridiculous predictions at the beginning of the tournament (all involving England) and I think he's a bit ticked off that he looks pretty stupid as a result now.

I think one of them was Kane wouldn't score more than one goal or something.

Edit: Found it.

Alli will get a red card.
Stones, Cahill and Jones will each make bad mistakes leading to goals conceded.
Henderson will get injured.

I guess all of the others could still happen but that Kane one.

Penalties weren’t even soft. The second one the Panama player actually punches Kane in the back as he throws him to the ground. And I don’t even think the ref was giving it for the challenge on Kane

I guess the penalties were soft in that any half decent defender wouldn't have behaved like that. It was stupid to do it once, what the strawberry float did they think was going to happen the 2nd time?

I like your positivity, mcjihge2 :toot: .

But... HOLD IT!!! Maybe you're employing reverse psychology? :o  .

Kane is overrated. No chance will he get the golden boot.

I was optimistic but they even exceeded my prediction :toot:

I must admit, i was a little apprehensive considering england's form in recent tournaments, but this afternoon they really were fantastic.

Columbia will definitely be the team to avoid from this group, they've got a decent defence and 3 or 4 quality attacking players.

Champion/McCoist is by far the best commentary team we have at the World Cup. Really good together.

It’s really all gone wrong for Russia in this game. 2-0 down and a red card.

Uruguay 2-0 Russia. Russia got ten men now.

Egypt are winning 1-0.
