RLC was great, definitely has a dynamism about him that others are lacking. Whether he could keep that up for 90 mins or not is another question but I'd strongly consider starting him against Panama.

Re: Henderson, perhaps it is the system, but I would like to see him turn around when passed the ball by the centre backs and face the opposition to at least look for a forward pass before offloading the ball back from whence it came. But most of the time he doesn't look, it's like he's afraid.

The lack of any compitant offical last night is a worry. With all the gooseberry fool we have seen VAR used for, last nights penalty claims yet not even a sniff of VAR raises alarms

Also officials let Tunisia get away with gooseberry fool. Standing less than 1 yards away on free kicks and moving before they are taken. Standing in the D when corners were taken! Even though brought to the attention of officials nothing was given

It's a Russian conspiracy to not let England get any penalty decisions go their way :shifty:

The Totally football show pointed out before the game, that the ref had a history of big blunders, including using VAR to upgrade a yellow card given to a player to a red card. Completely missing the fact that he had booked the wrong player.

Anyhow, pleasantly surprised by England being so positive in their play. They do not look like world beaters, but it is nice to see them actually playing positive football, hopefully they can keep it up and we may end up winning a few more games.

It was a good win and I imagine Southgate will be drilling into them the need to keep playing more positive football like we did for most of the first half. If there was a match to get things a bit wrong but get away with it and learn the mistakes then this was it!

Be interesting to see what Southgate does vs Panama. Keep things largely the same (I'd drop Sterling personally) or change it up.

As for today, go Japan. :toot:

If England can play like they did in the first 20minutes last night for 60-70mins they should go far.

The lull in the second half was odd, heat or no heat they looked tired.

I would like to see Rashford or Vardy given a shot in place of Sterling. Also potentially give Rose a go on the left.

Personally i don't think Walker should be in the back three and i would rather Dier was there but that's clearly not going to happen.

If anything VAR makes the referees look even more corrupt. Previously they could hide behind a load of excuses when on the pitch, but when you’ve got all these referees watching on monitors from every angle, you’re either all incompetent when it comes to the rules, biased, or worst of all on the take.

Apparently VAR did look at both those incidents involving Kane in the box and cleared both, which just seems odd. I thought holding in the box was an area they were trying to stamp down on, and both those were particularly bad examples. I'm unbiased and I thought they were both clear fouls.

Columbians determined to even up the numbers in this game by feigning injury in every challenge.

Columbia were so into singing their national anthem and now the game’s basically over before it’s even begun.
