That game was pretty bad apart from the 2 Cheryshev goals ( ) and the FK at the end. World Cup openers aren’t usually great but Saudi Arabia were awful. I really thought they were gonna get a draw. Russia were a lot better than I expected too; will be interesting to see how they do against Egypt and Uruguay, thought it was going to be those 2 going through for sure.

Tomorrow is when the real action starts.

Can’t wait for Egypt vs Uruguay and Portugal vs Spain.

Morocco vs Iran should be feisty too.

Surprisingly, that was the first goal by a sub in an opening fixture of the World Cup ever.

Saudi Arabia? More like Shoddy Arabia. Looks like they’ll beheading out of the World Cup soon.

So apparently Ashley Young is going to start for England on Monday. If you'd told me 3 years ago that he'd be United and England's first choice left back I've have asked which timelines I was in

Quite impressive really for a converted winger, he's reinvented himself to ensure survival.

Young peaked at Villa. And he was never that good for us either!

This is the first major tournament where I really have no idea what our team is going to look like before the first game. I'm not sure if that is a good or bad sign!

I predict Kane will start - pretty bold I know.

Always had a soft spot for Young, hope he does well.

Everyone seen the clip of Robbie Williams swearing at the camera during the opening ceremony? What a monumental dickhead :fp:

The way full backs are used in football today, with teams utilising wing backs more, it does make sense to convert wingers if they’re decent enough defensively.
