I've just been reading up on this game, and wondered why no one had created a thread for it (so well done Rubix). Looks great - Final Fantasy meets Pokemon. I was considering buying on release. My only reservation is that I've bought Pokemon X and Omega Ruby in the last few months. Not sure if I should go for the PS4 or Vita version.

I'd have probably picked this up at a quieter time of the year but it's coming out the week after Civ VI so...

...one more turn...

Pre ordered ages ago. Went for Vita version but recently changed to PS4.

Looks like a lot of fan service to classic FF games, love it

Ordered Vita version from Amazon. Looks like a good time sink

Why no digital option on PS Store I wonder?

This is on my 'to buy after Christmas' list, looks better than the new mainline FF game imo

World of Final Fantasy review by Game Informer - 8.25 score

Concept:
Return to a traditional RPG format while revisiting your favourite parts of Final Fantasy history.

Graphics:
The toy-like visual style looks great, and it captures the essence of the familiar monsters.

Sound:
I was happy to hear the returning characters' voice actors reprise their roles. The new versions of old musical themes are also great.

Playability:
Exploration and combat work fine, but sitting through multiple screens to compare monster abilities and see their effects on your stack is a hassle.

Story:
The story is awful, but the fun of collecting monsters - along with a flood of fan service - makes that narrative worth enduring.

Replay Value:
Moderate

Basically what I've been wanting since FFIX. Turn based combat is much more enjoyable for me. All I've wanted is a classic style FF game with modern production values. It's one of the reasons I'm a bit disappointed with the route the FFVII remake is taking. This looks to be the closest I'm going to get to scratching that particular itch. Will be watching closely. :D

I've ordered up the PS4 version. Worked out as £19.99 from Amazon. You can get £2 discount for pre-ordering with Prime, £5 credit for logging in to the Amazon app for the first time, and another £7 credit for buying a £30 gift voucher. :D

I'll be checking that out then. :D

Hopefully this both plays well and sells well enough to convince them that there's still a market for a big budget, turn based RPG on home consoles. It won't come to anything for years, but FFXVI with the production values of XV and a turn based battle system from the SNES or PS1 games would be amazing.

Ugh. They've locked Japanese VA behind pre-order scheme.

Yeah. I'm hoping that at least they give you the option to buy it (Which isn't ideal either though). Can't abide american voices for these games.

If that happened, I would be so happy.

I just watched the two trailers in the OP and I'm now very tempted to grab this on PS4 when it comes out. It's so

Yeah me too. The demo will be instrumental in my decision to get this or not.

I can swing one game this month and with Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2 and this coming it's going to be a tough choice. :?
