Now, it's St Patricks Day tomorrow, I usually make up such a thread but basically it turns out into people hating on Ireland so I thought I'd make this instead.

Personally I love the a 'non harsh' scouse accent, Scottish and Welsh accents. English girls seem to go batshit mental over my accent which is both alarming and amazing back in the day. We're probably the ugliest nation on that list though.

I proper love the Welsh accent.

Australian?! You've got to be having a laugh. They sound like utter trash. Scottish and French are easily my best.

I'm with you on that one, I was in Australia for an entire summer and I couldn't STAND the accent. Mate of mine married a girl out there and lived there for years (now divorced) and has a horrible Dublin/Australian accent, its basically my accent but all his sentences go up in tone at the end, it's horrific!

A lot of Americans can't tell the difference between English (not Birmingham) & Australian, but like them both.

Clearly French coming from a woman is best.

These things are very silly. Accents vary so much in each country it's ridiculous to suggest the whole nation sound sexy. Irish and English can obviously sound very pleasing, but other times utterly repulsive. Spanish too when the harsh phlegm sound is very pronounced is horrible.

Having just moved to Germany I'm liking it a lot more than I thought. In some strange way, when they are well spoken, it sounds like a posh English accent.

To generalise a bit, I'd say my least liked accents are middle eastern and eastern European men. Never heard either of those and thought "that sounds nice".

This. Just in the UK alone there are a ridiculous number of completely different accents.

Depends far too much on the person's voice, gender, where exactly they're from in the country, and whose opinion you're considering. Can't really see how American or Australian would be anywhere near the top 10 though.

Irish gals

Southern Irish is definitely right to be top.

Australian though

I've met loads recently, and it's not a sexy accent.

Irish/Scottish accents

I really don't like Irish accents on women.

French, German and Russian accents on women however

Can't say I've ever though of Scottish accent as sexy. They are very nice sometimes sure, but sexy? Hmm.
