The ones where you can fill up the boxes are the easiest to fiddle. Put the more expensive ones inside a 'standard' box and they always get scanned just fine at the tills...

...or so I have heard anyway...

:shifty:

One that I AM guilty of is stealing a few Lego pieces from our class's box back at primary school because I wanted them for my own Lego stash at home.

I once had my mates working on the checkout scan through a Waitrose patisserie chocolate cake for £1.50 or something, I'm not sure if that's theft or conspiracy to commit fraud. I was super annoyed though because the cake was for my brother and apparently he just fed it to some girls because he already had another cake. :x

Aside from the constant piracy of US TV shows (that aren't on Netflix or Amazon), which I genuinely feel zero guilt over, and the legally ambiguous 'crime' of emulating games I can't physically play on their original hardware; these are the only examples I can think of:

Vandalising a newly constructed brick wall at school (i was going through a difficult time with my physical health and took out my aggression on the wall by kicking some bricks loose).

Falsely accusing a kid at school of bringing canabis to school (he definitely smoked it, one day he broke something I was making in woodwork so I took my revenge by 'grassing' on him).

Drawing semi pornographic doodles on a whiteboard with a permanent marker (I have no excuse for this one).

When I started my first "proper" job at 18, one day I left about an hour early whilst someone else covered for me. I spent the entire evening panicking and a sleepless night worrying about the consequences of my actions.

I am no good at crime.

These things clearly weigh heavily on you Jawa!

That reminds me - when I worked in room service at the Hilton in Cardiff we once left the room service phone with someone on the bar during a "quiet time" and went to Starbucks to get a drink.

When we came back he was in a massive panic because not only had the bar got very busy but he had also taken about four orders for room service as well... Sorry m8!

This also makes me remember that one of our jobs was to refill the minibars in the rooms, this basically involved travelling around the hotel with a trolley full of drinks and snacks. Some things may have "gone missing" whilst in transit on a few ocassions. :shifty:

I remember Gary Wilson 'fixing' a spice rack I was making with a mallet hammer, but I TOOK IT LIKE A MAN and still got my Grade 4 CSE Woodwork :shifty: .

I don't know which is worse: the fact you're a strawberry floating GRASS or your misspelling of 'cannabis'. :x

Tsk tsk tsk!

I don't recall ever purposefully stealing anything from a shop, I have on one occasion not had an item scanned at a manned checkout but if I told them that they'd be annoyed a customer was telling them how to do their job so I've just left it. This isn't really my fault so I'm not sure if this counts.

In my younger days I did download music for free, watch films online and the like. Don't do this anymore as I'm paranoid that I'll be the one who gets found out.

There was an open packet in the toy section of an ASDA. It was a small buildable Dalek figure. The only thing it was missing were the three stalks. I admit that the fact the aisle was empty tempted me to take it.
It my defence, there was no way it was going to be sold, and the packet was still there for stock taking.

I stole my older brother's pocket money on the sly for a couple of years.

When one of our offices was closing I helped myself to a wireless MS keyboard. Had it over 10 years and still use it today.

I do genuinely regret that, it wasn't my finest moment.

I shouldn't worry about it too much. I met Gary Wilson by chance in a pub many years later. He was a sad lonely broken man. It's a shame really; he was simultaneously both very clever and very foolish.

Oh that reminds me, I have permenantly "borrowed" a pair of headphones that were abandoned at work about 5 years ago.

When I was about 10, I stole a Nestle Secret (anyone remember these? They were epic) from Superdrug. I ate it when I got outside but then felt so guilty I threw it back up shortly afterward.

I can honestly say that that was my one and only act of crime in my entire life.

I went to the shops with a friend for some vodka when I was about 21, and was served by a guy I recognised from the year above me at school who clearly hated his job as Morrisons checkout guy. He told me to grab a packet of chewing gum, then scanned the chewing gum, put the vodka in a bag and handed it to me. I promptly left with my spoils.
