I was pondering this today as I laughed heartily at Bobby Digital's ability to both save the day and provide the most amusing topic on here in ages. Why do I post on GRcade? It's a games forum, but I rarely post about games. Yet the Off topic has turned out to be an excellent source of witty banter, information, spleen-venting and shite. I'm sure if the OT up sticks and moved to the middle of a Gardener's world website it would still retain the same appeal.
I gave up my pondering as I drifted towards the middle of the road and into oncoming traffic. I'm sure if I'd crashed, my reaction would be...

To answer the original question in a semi-sensible manner, Off Topic is a force unto itself. This place is so much more than a games forum, and it is that which sets us apart from other games forums. We aren't just a games forum, we are a place to write about just about anything. Whatever your problem, someone will listen to you, and may possibly even help you. We are a community, the likes of which I have not yet encountered elsewhere on the internet.

GRCade is much, much more than just a games forum. It is a home from home.

If you ask me, we have a pretty good range of members here, and most points of view are at least represented, even if they aren't particularly accepted. The very fact that we will allow these points of view to be expressed is what sets us apart. I've known many other forums that have been run, intetionally or not, to a particular agenda, with all dissenting voices banned.

Let's face it, would any other forum allow both Cal and I to co-exist?

I still consider myself new to the community. But whenever I find myself on the door step of an internet connection, grcade/off topic is always the first site I go to. It's great!
