I just hope Channel 5 don't treat it like they do Person of Interest. :(

I picked up the Blu-ray set and am rewatching some of my favourite episodes in anticipation of the new stuff. Looks so damn good.

Just a heads up there's another episode tonight in america, so S10E02 should be available to download tomorrow morning. I thought the first episode was ok, not quite sure what to think about some of the mythology referenced in this episode (seemed like they retconned everything that came before as simply "the truth it was all planned from the beginning" "all a setup etc etc") as I didn't bother to watch all of 1-9 again and the last time I watched the show properly was around the time season 9 aired and finished.

Enjoyed the opening episode although Joel McHale's speech near the end was pretty bad. If that is the worst of the first 3 eps then I'm pretty happy.

I thought that was alright. Bit too much of an info dump in parts, though  Just seeing the original opening credits again made me

The everything that has happened before - you know the stuff you were meant to care about for 9 years - was a lie was a bit rough. Really just want them to get on with it. Part of me wishes it had been more monster of the week style - rather then adding to the myth-arc stuff.

I enjoyed that. It wasn't amazing but it wasn't the disaster we'd been led to believe it was. Hopefully it's MOTW stuff in the next episode.

I think it's MOTW right up until the last episode.

Now THAT was classic X-Files (ep 2) A bit of banter between Muller and Scully, rummaging around in the dark with flashlights, some humour. Bit of mythology creeping in too. Loved it.

More (quasi) MOTW episodes please.

Better 2nd episode, as mentioned above classic X-Files.

Starts 8th Feb on Ch5. Ratings have been great in the US so hopefully another season if GA & DD have time.

Second episode was better, I feel, bit still... I dunno.

Gonna sound weird but it felt like an episode of Fringe. I dunno whether it's the higher production values or what, and I know it's weird to say that it felt like Fringe given how derivative of The X Files Fringe always was, but it didn't... scratch that itch, you know?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting it to be just like it always was like some battered housewife going back to her high school boyfriend, but I think that because of the six episode limit they're trying to make every moment as X-Filesy as possible meaning there's no moments for actual personality to shine through. It feels like someone doing an impression of the X Files.

(strawberry float I sound like a twat. Ignore me, I did quite like this one. I think the problem is that it was just good enough that it reminded how amazing the show was at its best).

That was great. If the rest of the MOTW episodes can keep up that quality I'll be very happy.

First episode was jarring and conspiracy laden which was annoying but still good fun. David hasn't actually got into the Fox Mulder mode yet but he is getting there. Gillian was great. Second episode tonight :D

10x01- I really enjoyed that as a new viewer who basically knows nothing about this show. It was very exposition heavy but Duchovny's weird charisma held it together.

Going to watch the pilot on Amazon Prime.

Darin Morgan is the best X Files writer. So good.
