I quite like the look of this. Lots of leather though. Too much leather.

Seen a lot of intense hate from some on Twitter, but that's to be expected from some hyper-reactive comic nerds. It looks okay, nothing more. Biggest concern is that the coolest part was the reveal of a shaved James McAvoy

The only thing I came away with from that is James McAvoy's wig. :dread: Could they not have filmed his pre-bald scenes before he shaved his head?

If it's not a wig, then what on earth is going on up there?

I think the best is First Class, but haven't seen DoFP.

X2 > DOFP > X1 > First Class > X3

First Class has such a terrible supporting cast. :dread: January Jones :dread: :dread:

Tbh, I'm beginning to understand why they wanted a mutant registration act in X1

I agree with that list and its actually made me realise that the X-men film are pretty underrated. I think they're all at least good, with the exception of 3.

Apocalypse voice sounds crap. I wasn't expecting OTT, cartoon series-esque delivery, but that was going too far the other way.

Anyway, I look forward to it getting released on BR.

Yeah I was hoping it would be a bit more...otherworldly, but this just sounds like an angry dude.

I don't know why but I checked the description of the YouTube video in case it was a spoof. Apokalypse looks utterly ridiculous. His makeup reminds me of Power Ranger baddies.

Some of those effects look awful, too. Presumably it's going to be in 3D?

edit: Apparently the Power Ranger vibe is a common one to get:

Will Mystique Be Blue In X-Men: Apocalypse? Jennifer Lawrence Tells Us This

Image

I am blue in it, a little bit. I put my foot down as much as I could. [But] they were very, very nice to me.

DOFP was terrible. But they're really pushing the boat out to make this one the new worst in the franchise :fp:

Thank strawberry float she is off after this one.

I'm hoping Apocalypse gets the respect he deserves, would be horrible if he was nerfed. They need to have a couple of big characters killed by him in order to demonstrate his ability.

Isn't Apocalypse the main villain in the X-Men universe? If he's in this film, where does the franchise go moving forward? At least with the MCU they're holding off on having Thanos as a main character until further down the road...
