Who've MS employed to make these cock-and-bull announcements...Sony?

Getting round it isn't the problem. The problem is no-one wants to risk MS's legal wrath.

This news story has turned in to an EDGE [10].

Given we can easily get Edge and R4 cards for the DS, I find it difficult to believe someone clever can't get round this, unless you would need to use some MS copyrighted technology in cards/HDs.

I'm sure I read a tutorial somewhere on how to put in a 2.5" HDD.

yeah, it's pretty simple, but the way the hardware is locked down means that irrespective of the size of the drive used, it has to be locked down to the size of one of the existing hard drives (20, 60, 120 or 250).

I've been using a 120gb drive I put together myself on the 360.

It works fine, and saved me money.

Well the introduction of a 250GB HDD plus MS allowing USB drives to be used as memory via update are good steps for MS to take.

Be sticking with my 120GB though.

some people will spend £80 on a 250gig hd and enjoy it. while others will buy 3 PS3's + other hardware and then complain about the price of a 360 hd. :fp:

Definitely, the Dualshock controllers are too (but then they do contain motion controls and analogue buttons ;) )

and yet they are still worse than a 360 pad.

Something of a reaction to the challenges of being the lone 360 gamer these days Buffers (light hearted).

If they make the 120gb £40 then I would definitely pay that, but I don't need 250gb so meh.
