on the whole, CoD4 on Veteran isn't too bad but there are a couple of nasty parts to get past.

Main one is No Fighting in War Room on the bit after you go down the corridor which is sealed and you go left or right and clear the enemies out before reaching the slow opening red blast door. That is easily the most frustrating part of any game I have ever played.

One Shot One kill by the Ferris Wheel can be tough unless you get really good with the sniper rifle really quick. Plus a few well placed claymores & grenades help!

Also remember cursing the level where you're running through the greenhouses & the helicopter is above you just before you get the homing missile launcher. It's the level known as Downpour on MP, but can't remember the Single Player name.

And of course, Mile High Club. This is the only one I've left to get (980/1000  )

But on the whole, Veteran is not too difficult so long as you patiently pick of enemies and rush forward to get the next checkpoint before more spawn. A young cousin of mine who is only 11 has done 75% of Cod4 on Veteran without too much diffculty although One Shot One Kill is stumping him at the moment just by the Ferris Wheel!

Good luck!

On my first play through. Just got past the green house level mentioned earlier. I've started off on Hardened to begin with and it isn't that bad.

Anyway thanks for the pointers guys!

Yeah pretty much what everyone else has said. The majority of veteran isn't that difficult, but there's certain sections (already mentioned) that can get tricky. Search Youtube if you're having a hard time with any sections, there's guides on there. Mile High Club is the real toughie, took me a good couple of hours to do.x

I think I got up to Safehouse on Veteran before I finally gave up. I just couldn't be bothered doing the same little sections over and over again because I died so much.

For the next Call of Duty game I get, I probably won't even bother touching Veteran difficulty.

Yeah, Veteran sure is frustrating.

I'm up to No Fighting In the War Room, myself now. Bugged checkpoints for the lose. I must have past the same place over ten times (and dying shortly after) before the game even bothered to give me a checkpoint

You have to be quick for NFITWR. If you reach a checkpoint but not quick enough, it doesn't give you the checkpoint to save from. It's frustrating sure, but think about how frustrating it would be to reach the blast doors with only 30 seconds left & it's impossible to do.

I've nabbed the following off 360voice, and I can confirm the general accuracy of the times. From memory, I hit CP3 with 5'45 left and still got the checkpoint there. There is a very handy video walkthrough on nextgenwalkthroughs.com that you can pause to note the times you need to be at certain places in so you can note them down to push yourself forward. Flash grenades are your friends on this level, particularly between CP3 & CP4.

Checkpoint Tips for NFitWR

CP #1: The corner after the dining area / kitchen ~ > 8 min 15 seconds
CP #2: Going down the stairs ~ > 7 min 45 seconds
CP #3: After the large area of creates and before the painful corridor of doom ~ >6 min 15 seconds
CP #4: Before the slow opening of the doors ~ >3 mins 30 seconds
CP #5: Just before you blow out the wall to the war room ~ > 1 min 15 seconds

Best tip I can give - as soon as you get Cp1, save, then save at CP2, CP3 etc. Good luck!

I managed to get the Smile achievement in GW2, which means I've got 200/200! :D

It's been a while since I last got 200/200 in an Arcade game so at least that's one more done. I'll still play the game though since I really want to improve my high scores. I find that if I give up on the achievements or get them all, I usually tend to not bother playing it again.

Forza 2 really is the most repetitive game ever. You just do the same few tracks over and voer again, except with a different car, or the course is the other way round. That's racing games for you though I guess. It's made worse by the fact that the game isn't even a challenge, every race is easy, and it's not like I'm particularly good at racing games either. x

I managed to make decent progress in the game although I only have just under 400 points. I traded it in because I couldn't be bothered with it. I would like to go back to it again some day to see if I could finish off the career mode, but I would need to start again because my save was wiped. :(

Veteran difficulty crushed my soul (still completed COD2 & COD4 on it though.)

I think I had about 5min 30 sec when reaching CP3. Just did it, anyway. And then did the last mission without dying at all.

I've tried doing Mile High Club a few times, but no luck. I think I'll play something else for a while

Honestly, Mile High Club is one of those mission that takes a crazy amount of practice and luck. If you put it off and only give it a go every now and again you will never get it. It's one of those things you just have to sit down for a couple of hours and relentlessly try until you succeed. Let's hope COD5 isn't quite as hard. x

Try out the video guide I made. Seems to have helped out quite a few people with this achievement. :)

I have no idea how you got away with doing the ground floor of the plane so slowly. When I was doing it I was a good 10 seconds faster then you through that part, but you did the next floor insanely quickly so I guess that's how. I'm surprised the flash and run tactic works though, never thought of that. x

I'm currently working my way through Bioshock's achievements, I accidentally harvested a little sister just now blowing my chances at the 'Little Sister Savior' achievement. :(

I've reached the 400 point mark in Beautiful Katamari after managing to finish the requests and one or two other little things. Now I'll need to get 100 points on each level to unlock Eternal Mode for each level so I can look for the remaining presents and cousins. Annoyingly, I'll need to get some of the DLC to get more of the presents and cousins so I can unlock the "All Presents/Cousins" achievements. But I suppose what's even more annoying is that I'm not very good at the game which means I'll have trouble trying to unlock the Eternal Modes. :(

Would anyone be up for helping me out with the GHIII online achievements tonight, aka the battle mode one and the one for doing a certain amount of matches with the controller?

PM me/MSN me. :)
