Paywall confirmed for pre-owned games.

So what about playing pre-owned games offline, how can the console tell it's pre-owned?

Probably like 360 where a licence is tied to the console as well.

But if you put the disc into an Xbox One not connected to the internet, how can it be blocked?

Not blocked but you can't play online obviously, which is the same as an online pass I suppose

Who strawberry floating cares, do you have your Xbox connected to your router or wireless ? I'll bet yes, so it doesn't matter,

Hmm, at least you'll be able to take a copy of FIFA to your friends and play it on his Xbox One (provided it's not connected to Live.

Just finished watching the reveal on Forbes and...it's not a console for me.

I mean compared to Sony's reveal this is far from a gaming machine. It seems to be a great device for families living in America, though.

For the gaming it did show I wasn't even impressed by Forza. CoD, even in new-engine guise, looked basic and I haven't bought an EA Sports game in....years!

However, I am keen to watch Speilbergs Halo series. I bet that's quite good you know.

Nope, you won't be able to play wholesale without at least registering your game online.

Yeah I get the feeling Matrick has given up on markets outside the USA now.

I get the sarcasm...but it is a market with around 130m potential customer (if they get on the entertainment bandwagon).

So they are blocking used games?! Why I don't think this is a HUGE deal, they are basically slapping their hardcore audience in the face.

Hopefully Sony don't follow suit; they might have to if publishers demand it.
