I'll be at work but all I'm really interested in is if they announce a slim version.

Boo! :|

For me E3 is the better place to make announcements, and I like it when companies go all out at it.

Bit early for a slim XB1, no?

How could MS improve upon XB1 pad?

I would like them to revert to a more 360ish pad, not that the X1 pad is bad but it doesn't feel as nice to hold

Interesting comments about a focus on their first party studios. Undeniably long overdue, I'm sure you'll agree. The question is...what?

I wonder if we'll see any more old ip's being revisited like Phantom Dust last year.

He mentioned 3rd party deals too.. wonder if there'll be anything else as big as Tomb Raider announced. Time for the annual Shenmue 3 prediction..

So when googling 'Xbox one slim' there seems to be a few suggestions that Microsoft could increase the specs of the machine so as to compete better with PS4 for resolution and frame rate. How likely do we think that would be?

Zero possibility. You risk fracturing the userbase and pissing off early adopters by releasing a new higher specced model. I think MS are hoping that DX12 is going to help with performance issues.

That's an interesting thought, 'milner. My initial reaction is, like mhtl, to say no chance... but Nintendo has just gone down this road with New 3DS, and Apple has done it with their products for years. In the 3DS example, the 'New' variant offers faster processing and improved frame-rate in games designed to take advantage of the new hardware.

I would still be surprised, but MS doesn't seem averse to shaking up their console proposition, as evidenced by their changing position on Kinect and the consistent updating of the operating system software.

They could do this, but not this year. It's too soon

Thats the thing, its not unheard of for companies to take this approach to hardware. It doesn't need to be a huge spec leap, just enough to allow parity between 3rd party releases with PS4
