6 years generations just work, let's keep it that way.

I'd be happy with 5 years but otherwise I completely agree.

My only problem with PS4K was that A - they have a record selling console that's leading significantly this generation so can't see a reason for it and B - It doesn't appear to be a significant jump in power to warrant an upgrade.

Phil Spencer made that speech about upgrading hardware before the PS4K was leaked didn't he? Either way I wonder if Sony knew MS were coming out with a new box ?

Surely the bigger the leap in power, the bigger the possibility of splitting your market.

In terms of actual games, have we had any rumours of what new games we can expect to see? I want to see some really good exclusive software

Other than the expected announcement of Forza Horizon 3 nothing solid. I'm not expecting too many new game announcements as the XB1 already has a pretty packed future line-up of barely shown console exclusive games. Also they'll probably save some for Gamescom.

I want to see more of Recore and Crackdown 3 single player, something on Rares project/s would be nice to see also. I've not really been all that impressed by Microsofts exclusives so far this generation so I'm really hoping they have some big hitters lined up that are not Halo/Gears/Forza

i'm thinking MS may have been ready to go with what they were going to announce at E3. but perhaps they will bring forward a few other announcements now with the recent news on The Last Guardian stuff.

Microsoft should now troll us all by doing a 3 hour show dedicated to just Microsoft Paint XBoxOne Edition.

Now you can paint with the power of the cloud.

Unless I've missed something I doubt TLG will have any effect on MS's E3 plans.

MS can come out, re-show the Scalebound trailer and say "look, we have a game that's never coming out too!"

I'm expecting quite a few games to be announced to be honest, no doubt a new Trailer for Battlefield 1 will be shown, but looking forward to footage of Crackdown 3, Gears 4, Halo Wars 2, Recore, Sea of Thieves, Scalebound plus some preview games dropping that day, hopefully DayZ but I doubt it, but We happy Few may go up.

Disappointed they not showing anything from Undead Labs. It looks like UL have something to show but MS simply didn't ask.

Also be good if the top 10 most requested BC games not out yet dropped. Not sure they'll announce the Scorpio but the slim will definitely be shown, plus price and probably available from 13th.

I think we are going to get a few more game announcements this year compared to recent E3s largely because Sony essentially "won" E3 last year due to introducing stuff like Shenmue 3 and the FF7 remake even though what was shown didn't amount to much.
MS focused on games coming relatively soon and while they had the stronger lineup for the back end of 2016 it was overshadowed by announcements elsewhere.

I hope we don't get another Halo game but we probably will.
It's hard to look at Microsoft's back catalogue and pick out dormant IPs really suited to an E3 reveal so maybe we are going to see them money hatting revivals of other companies titles but does that make sense if they want to build a solid base for Xbox/Windows 10 going forward?

Maybe Age of Empires will be revived, something big will be announced, last year it was Backwards Compatibility, wonder what it will be this year? Halo 6 won't be shown, possibly a small chance they'll close show with a teaser.

I think after the disastrous last attempt that idea has been well and truly shut down. I'm looking forward to a new Forza Horizon, I hope its set in Asia/Japan with mountain Touge routes, a few city highways and Eurobeat radio stations. It'd make sense as they've done America and Europe already.

I hope they don't tease another Halo. Halo Wars 2 is enough, maybe something cool for Halo 5 at most but another Halo game isn't needed for next year.

Age of Empires doesn't seem like it'd work as a big Xbox announcement. Save it for a more PC friendly audience.

Problem is, Microsoft don't appear to have many first party studios left. What if they struck a 'SF5' style deal with Capcom and money hatted a new DmC or Dino Crisis?

you know how last year MS had a great show, then Sony put Final Fantasy and Shenmue on stage and won. well, i'm thinking The Last Guardian is an instant win, so MS will need to change it up.

if they announce VR then they will have to announce Scorpio because the X1 won't run VR, thats for sure.

The Last Guardian was on-stage at E3 last year. FFVII, Shenmue III and TLG were the trinity of "impossible annoumcements" that people talk about as part of Sony's show. I don't think TLG appearing again is going to have quite the same impact, since we've already saw it running on PS4 and already have a date for this year.

A firm Scalebound date, with some Recore gameplay would be nice. I hope Recore is third person stealth...no idea why, it would be just good.

I can see Recore being a sort of Zelda clone with Metroidvania elements. I really hope it turns out good

Here's what Shinobi on GAF said -
It's not a small game at all.

Q) I thought Recore was going to be some sort of Open world 3rd person action adventure game?
It is.

You get your own mechanic's garage for customization options too.

Third person action adventure where you venture into the world for quests, finding your little robot dudes, with RPG and customization elements. Melee, some shooting, etc.
