Ballsy move by Microsoft. I'm assuming the next step will be letting you use Gamepass on PC.

Realistically, we're looking at Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, Halo 6 and Forza Horizon 4 as the minimum from Microsoft this year. That's not a bad set of games for €120.

When you stick in all the great older content on the service (I recently played Metro: Last Light and bloody loved it) it's a pretty compelling offer.

I'm already enjoying the Pass as I like the random games that drop. Like a gaming taster menu. The added exclusives is just the gravy.

Yeah, if you are interested in buying an Xbox this announcement has taken Gamepass to another level as a selling point. I hope it doesn't mean we are going to see their first party titles become increasingly reliant on loot boxs going forward though. Forza 7 should have been a triumph but their desire to monetize progression put me off the game.

Topic title should make clear its Microsoft Studio games it includes, not all Xbox exclusives.

£8 a month is still quite expensive though and its not just £100 over a year for those games, you obviously have to keep playing to keep access to the games, its not an insignificant amount of money to be spending.

If this had been available last year, being on it would have ended up costing me more. It isn't necessarily a no-brainer, unlike something like EA Access.

The rate of games leaving right now is tiny, and no Xbox Exclusive games have left it at all. If they ever do leave I reckon it'd be after at least a year.

Ah, OK. I was under the impression the games regularly get swapped out. If these are likely to be semi-permanent fixtures, I may well start to subscribe (particularly as I'm 95% download these days).

The new Ori game would also be included in this, right?

Yeah if you keep subscribing. I play any particular game for a month maximum so I'll dip in to play, say, Halo 6 and then cancel straight away. It means I get to play the latest releases on day one for a fraction of the cost, plus I'll have access to a ton of other stuff for that month too. Gonna save me a lot of money.

Yep, it’s Microsoft Studios I think?

I think they’ll bring it to PC in time.

The Major Nelson tweet in the OP says all Xbox exclusives from Microsoft Studios.

Strange, Moon Studios (the developers of Ori) are described as both an independent game developer and a first party Microsoft Studio developer...sounds contradictory to me.

But yeah seems like the new Ori game would be included in this.

State of Decay 2 is made by Undead Labs, not owned by MS and that’s in it.

I was thinking that there is a difference between games published by Microsoft Studios and those developed by companies directly owned by MS.

I expect an E3 reveal and release onto Game Pass, probably Ori 2. This should increase player base for games too.

Good move by MS but I'm not interested enough in any of those exclusives to declare it an amazing deal for me just yet. £100 would get you a lot of games in sales.

There’s already over 100 games... but fair enough man.
