ARK doing well although the 1m includes the 1hr free trial -

ARK: Survival Evolved launched worldwide into all regions of the Xbox Game Preview Program on Dec 16, and by the end of the first week we were blown away by the Jurassic number of new players experiencing the ARK universe (and we were scrambling to put up more servers)! In under a week ARK was downloaded over 1,000,000 times and Survivors had lasted a combined 200,000 real-life days against the dinosaurs and perils of the island, including other players! There’s no question that survival games have taken the PC world by storm lately, and as the only true large-scale multiplayer survival game available on console, perhaps it comes as no surprise that ARK’s daily Xbox One player count is already bigger than on PC

You need to give it time man. Game of The Year. I've been on 2 servers, one with 20 members in tribe but now it's just me and mate, nice little base at mo, even have a dinasaur pen with some dinos we can ride around on.

Major problem is about 15 guys on raptors who patrol the beaches killing noobs, we've learned to stick in tree line. Making a tower today. This game.

Ive watched it, for a long time, to me it seems horrendously boring. The graphics are poor, I know its like a preview game, but its all meh, like a lame version of fallouts base building. :shifty:

The Solus Project to launch on Steam Early Access & Xbox One Game Preview this month

Stranded on a deserted alien planet players must survive while looking for ways to save the human race.

Single-player survival game The Solus Project will launch on Steam Early Access on February 18, followed by Xbox One Game Preview on February 26, Teotl Studios and GRIP Digital have announced.

The episodic adventure sees players stranded on a deserted alien planet with mankind on the brink of destruction. Not only must you survive the harsh, volatile environment, but you'll also need to look for a way to save the human race.

"With the flood of run-of-the-mill survival sandbox games around us, we can't wait to show the players something different – a narrative-driven, single player survival experience, full of mystery and millennia-old secrets waiting to be unravelled," said Jakub Mikyska, CEO of GRIP Digital.

"After more than two years of development, we are ready to show our vision of what survival games could be – a hand-crafted adventure about the struggle between a man and nature and mankind's will to survive," added Sjoerd De Jong, CEO of Teotl Studios.

Episodic content updates will roll out to both early access editions, offering a new part of the alien world to explore with every update. The final game is planned for launch in May.

*bump*

Definitely getting The Solus Prokect tomorrow, 9/10 on steam from 126 reviews.

Should be different enough from The Long Dark to warrant a purchase and different again from Ark Survival Evolved cos its single player.

New Ark Mod map (x2 times size of original) and servers supporting up to 100 players launches today.

Can't wait to get stuck in.

Wish we had a few Ark players on here, 2-3 people can make a huge difference in such a game.

I own Solus, Ark and The Long Dark, I'd say Ark is miles ahead in the survival gamage stakes. The other 2 are single player survival sims. 1 is in the cold wilderness of Canada (story mode to be added) and the other is on a foreign planet, I'm stuck on solus in some caves and it's a weird hybrid of survival and story which doesn't work so well imo but its still in preview.

Ark is the most accomplished with a ton of content and systems in place before its release. In some ways its the best game on X1.

Slightly off topic this but it seems Internally Ark Survival evolved is up and running on PS4, just waiting for it to be released but Sony won't let them. I thought PS4 had a 'preview program' of its own? Odd.

As for the PS4 Release of ARK: Survival Evolved, it is currently up to Sony. We’ve been informed that we can’t release the game on this platform until it has been finished. We would like nothing more than to make ARK available on PS4 as soon as possible, as we already have an awesome PS4 version of the game running internally. If you would like to see it sooner, please let Sony know, as it’s unfortunately not our decision.

We also announced the expansion of Xbox Game Preview to Windows 10. This program gives gamers the chance to preview and purchase work-in-progress digital titles, participate in the development process and help developers make Windows 10 games the best they can be. One of our first titles available later this year will be Everspace by Rockfish Games, and there will be many more to come.

Everspace Now Available via Xbox Game Preview on Xbox One

Hamburg-based indie studio Rockfish Games has announced that its debut title Everspace has launched through Xbox Game Preview on Xbox One. In the coming weeks, it will be the very first title coming to Xbox Game Preview Program on Windows 10 and will support Xbox Play Anywhere featuring cross-saves and buy once, play anywhere.

“We were excited to be able to showcase Everspace at a variety of events over the past year – from E3 to Gamescom,” said Chris Charla, Director of ID@Xbox at Microsoft, “and it got great player response every time. We’re super excited that it’s coming to Windows 10 and Xbox One via game preview, and it’s awesome to have it as the debut Xbox Play Anywhere game in the ID@Xbox program.”

As an Xbox Game Preview title, Everspace is still in development and will be updated regularly. For the launch, an all-new boss fight, some voice-acted dialogs, a new planet type, additional Outlaw stations as well as many interface and gameplay tweaks have been added. Further additions and improvements feature most requested options like turning off v-sync, more granular graphic settings, and improved support for ultra-wide monitors.

In the coming months, two additional player ships will be added: The Colonial Scout, much smaller than the current Colonial Interceptor, will feature extreme maneuverability, a higher top speed but a weaker hull. It comes with a cloaking device and sniper weapons as starting gear. The upcoming Colonial Gunship will be the slowest of the three space ships but will compensate through a much stronger hull and an upgradable turret on top.

The Full Release is scheduled for end of Q1 2017 and will feature a fully voice-acted story with several thoughtfully designed characters and situation-based events, as well as the Hardcore Mode and full VR support.

“Thanks to our friends at ID@Xbox, we had the fantastic opportunity to demo Everspace to Xbox and Windows 10 gamers at pretty much every major games show since GDC earlier this year.” says Michael Schade, CEO and co-founder of Rockfish Games. “We cannot wait to launch our very first console game ever on Xbox One and offer players the ability to play on both Xbox One and Windows 10 via Xbox Play Anywhere.”

Grab Everspace for Xbox One now, and keep an eye out for the Windows 10 version launching in the next few weeks!
