How does RDR run on the X1S? I'm thinking of picking it up again.

The Original Xbox games are in 4:3 ratio, when the Xbox One X version is shown it is widescreen. If the code hasn't been changed what is happening there - is the image being stretched?

Isn't the emulator just changing a setting?

I've seen it in arcade games where the 3D objects are rendered in widescreen but the 2D backgrounds remain the same leaving black borders on the sides of the screen with 3D objects floating over them.

Plenty of Xbox games supported 16:9. I didn't have a widescreen TV at the time, but my large 4:3 CRT had a 16:9 mode.

Perfect. A locked 30fps.

Cool. I've a new account with my X1S, so it's been kind of fun unlocking all those achievements again with games I'd already done and dusted on the old 360. Will be great to go through RDR again.

*edit* Ordered the GOTY edition. :)

How odd, Alan Wake had the same thing but they just stopped selling the game and anyone who had it already still had the music.

Bar the shadow pop in and 30fps, Red Dead is close to a remaster, it’s simply gorgeous.

Portal 2 is a massive leap, all those straight edges were jaggy as fook before and it’s all gone. Dying for an Orange Box Enhanced now.

EDIT: Gears 2, Wow. Forgot how much I miss Dom and fighting the locust. Looks stunning.

I'd like to see the very first Amped given the back catalogue treatment.

Took a couple of screenshots of Gears 2 and Portal 2 last night.

Reminds me of the bullshots we used to see last gen, but now that's how clean the image quality actually is

Watched IGN's little comparison video for Red Dead Redemption and it's incredible. The work on the backwards compatibility so far has been fantastic.
