+1 for eneloops.

I got an eneloop charger and 4x AA's pack for £10 from Waitrose a few months ago. Your local one might still have them. Now I have about 12 AA's and 4 AAA's and I couldn't recommend them enough.

My vote is for the play & charge kit. It's probably overpriced, but I can't be doing with all that battery-changing faffybollocks. The battery in the kit lasts ages, and my four-year-old one, in regular use, is showing no signs of losing capacity.

Yeah this, rather my play & charge battery myself over rechargeable AA's. Very rarely runs out and when it does start to go down I plug it in sitting next to the console when not in use.

Do they hold their charge when they're not being used? I bought a bunch of Energizer rechargeables but they're never actually charged up when I need to replace batteries :fp:

Yeh! That's what make eneloops so good, they hold the charge and they also last longer than regular batteries. I probably get around to using them around 1-2 months after charging them and you wouldn't notice. In fact when you buy a pack of eneloops they are actually charged up to about 75% so you can use them right away.

They are better for me than a play and charge kit. I never had much luck with those on the 360 (the battery pack would be useless after a year even if you don't use them and they cost a lot more than AAs), plus with AAs I can use them in other controllers like the Rock Band ones.

I think you can charge eneloops in regular battery chargers although you better google that or perhaps someone else here can chime in. I can't comment on that myself as I bought a starter pack with the "official" eneloop charger.

For my Xbox 360 I started out with 3td party charge kits that knackered in about a year then I used chargeable batteries and a charger for the rest of its life and that worked out better.. with the Xbox one I got a second hand pad and it had one of Microsoft's official charger batteries in it, I have to admit it's been incredible I'm super happy with it it's lasted and worked so well .

Do the Xbox One charge kits still use two AA batteries taped together like on 360? Or lithium ion now?

Finally set up OneGuide, it syncs up will with the BT Youview box I have an gives me listing etc. It also works well with turning on the TV and the box automatically when I start the xbox.

Decided to do it as the bt box Netflix and amazon prime apps are really slow to use and slightly awkward to get to so I can use that on the Xbox and make everything much seamless.

So far so good.

I'm really going to enjoy those download times when I get my One X on Tuesday. I'm hoping it arrives early so I can get some time on games instead of being stuck downloading and not getting a chance until Wedensday or later.

Steady 70mb download speed and wired connection - still slow as buggery. Microsoft really need to learn a thing or two from Sony when it comes to installs and updates

Yeah this, when I was on 100mb Virgin BB it was slow. I mean, come on when it even warns you a download that's less than 500mb might take a while you know it's a bit gooseberry fool :slol:

Seems to me its just as bad or worse on PS4, download speeds are generally worse for me on PS4 and quite a few times games download only to take a seriously long time doing something after that.

Then there's the issue if you change from a physical to digital copy of a game. On PS4 they are totally different things which require you to delete the copy you have installed and download a game you already have on disc. On Xbox One you don't have to bother.

Don't get me wrong, the Xbox One UI is generally slow and useless, but when it comes to this area MS have Sony beat hands down.

I don't have a PlayStation to compare with, but I've never had any real issue with download or install speeds. Every time the subject comes up I'm always a little nonplussed.

Same. Downloads generally max out my connection.

Hope people try out Stuntman. I loved that game but it was quite overlooked. Not sure how it’s aged though.
