I rattled through the levels and although the jumping in Blood Dragon is pretty awful in places, it is a fun game. Can't see myself getting anywhere near A or A+ in any of the levels.

I also went back to Brave and picked up some of the achievements I did not quite get last time. I managed to have my save in the cloud so could play any level again.

Huh? I've just had two notifications on my PC that I've unlocked achievements in Gears of War 4. Achievements that I actually unlocked in October 2016. WTF?

Yeah they’re linked to the campaign, for completing various amounts of chapters - 5, 10 or whatever. They added them post-release.
Why? No idea.

Inside Xbox @ E3?
One game focus?
Windows gaming machine instead of the Xbox name?

Might be interesting, whatever happens.

I can't see them downplaying the Xbox brand now after all the money they've ploughed into it.

When they say different I think it will just be a change of style for the show rather than anything overly drastic. I think the most we can expect is some surprise additions to Game Pass.

Might be something to do with Mixer and their play via Mixer soon. Maybe a fan/streamer will be able to play the E3 demos during the conference and everyone else after via Mixer. I'd rather be able to download the demos though.

Sounds like we'll find out something at GDC/Build/Fanfest announcement that might give us more of a clue.

The most surprising thing is how close E3 is now. Didn't E3 2017 only finish a couple of weeks ago? :dread:

Certainly feels like I only just finished making the coverage videos.

I should probably book the time off for this year's E3 today.

Microsoft is planning to launch its new Xbox Live Avatars next month. The software giant first unveiled the redesigned avatars at E3 last year, and originally planned to provide them to Windows 10 users by the end of 2017. Microsoft missed that target, but sources familiar with the company’s Xbox plans tell The Verge that it will preview the new avatars to Xbox Insiders this month. Microsoft’s Xbox employees already have access to the new avatar system, and the Xbox Alpha group of testers will get access first before they’re broadly available next month.

The new avatars will let you fully customize your online character with new body type options, clothing, and props. Microsoft is offering a variety of options that focus on diversity, and the company’s original trailer showed an amputee, playful costumes, wheelchairs, skateboards, and even motorbikes to highlight all of the props and customization that will be available.

We understand Microsoft is also planning to open an avatar store in May, allowing Xbox Live users to purchase props, clothing, and additional customizations for their avatars. The new avatars are designed in the Unity engine, making it a lot easier to customize them and add additional props. They’re designed to replace the avatars originally introduced alongside the Xbox 360 in 2008. Sources tell us that Microsoft will eventually allow third-party developers to build their own props and clothing, and sell these items in Microsoft’s digital store.

E3 2018: Microsoft Readies Biggest E3 Showing Ever

Since Xbox made its first appearance at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2000, Xbox has had a major presence at the show, delivering exclusive and powerful ways to let fans in on what we’re up to, and 2018 will be no different. In fact, it will be our biggest showing ever.

With the evolution of E3, now including fans and extended show hours, we saw an opportunity to create an entirely new show experience reaching E3 attendees and those that are following the show from afar. With that, in collaboration with the Entertainment Software Association, the organizers of E3, we’re excited to announce that Xbox will be taking over the Microsoft Theater, a perfectly situated space located in the heart of L.A. Live and across the street from the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC).

The Microsoft Theater will be home to official E3 events like the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing on June 10, 2018 at 1PM PT, various Xbox FanFest activities, hands-on gameplay and demos for all E3 attendees and more. Not only does the Microsoft Theater allow us to centralize our Xbox presence at E3, but it’s size enables us to include even more fans and partners in the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing than ever before.

In addition to the Microsoft Theater, we’ll also continue to have a meaningful presence at the LACC with a new booth completely dedicated to Mixer, where you can play, stream and interact with games and catch the latest E3 news live throughout the entire week.

These changes – expanding our presence, multiple venues, taking over the Microsoft Theater – give us the opportunity to bring together a variety of Xbox experiences into one primary location and, most importantly, let fans in on what we’re up to in 2018 and beyond in a fresh new way.

So mark your calendars for the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing for June 10, 2018 at 1PM PT to kick off the week of E3 with us. We’re excited and will have plenty more to share on our E3 2018 plans soon. Stay tuned to Xbox Wire for an update in April.

I like the look of the new avatar system although I hope that "feel" has not been sacrificed for "detail". I loved Nintendo's Mii system - and I know not everybody did! - because, in my view, the basic-yet-stylish appearance and movement of the figures was spot-on. When using my PS4 I do kinda miss the avatars from my 360 and the Miis from 3DS and Wii/U!

Unless the UI is getting yet ANOTHER overhaul I can't see these being a success at all. They are well hidden away at the moment, like REALLY well hidden under profile in options and settings. They need them to be on the home page somewhere.

From Wikipedia:
The theatre auditorium seats 7,100 and holds one of the largest indoor stages in the United States

So Basically, MS bought a Theatre across the road from The LA Convention 3 years ago and now essentially don't have any floor space in the LA centre itself.. :?:

Still don't know the exact point in this unless there's some sort of community-type hub soon to become available for them.
It'll be good to mess about with the features though.

Also seems Microsoft have partially gone the EA route in having a separate event, except this time it's still part of E3 rather than being separate but within the same time frame.

You still get to see Avatars on the Home Page if you look at what your friends are playing. Maybe they'll feature in games or the triumphant return of 1 vs 100. Maybe they calculate the cost of developing them will be paid off by the money gained from add-ons. Might be linked to the careers system - https://www.windowscentral.com/xbox-career-system

I'd love to see 1 vs 100 come back. When you see the popularity of stuff like HQ on iOS and Android it kinda feels like it was a bit ahead of its time but happened a few years too early.
