Yeah it's really decent, I use it quite a lot when the other half is watching shite like Bake-Off on TV. Some games aren't suitable though, there's a tiny bit of lag which can be noticeable if you're playing something which requires quick reactions.

Is that on a surface pro? I've been wondering if the streaming would work well on that. How dependent is it on the device's graphical prowess?

It's a surface 3 the normal one not the pro.

The device is pretty irrelevant as it isn't doing anything other than playing a video stream and sending back commands (if the controller is connected to the device you are streaming to, I had the controller connected to the Xbox as was still in the living room)

I'm 99% sure the answer will be no but is there an Android version of the app?

There is an Android version of the Xbox app, but I don't expect it will include game streaming. The iOS version doesn't. It's a Windows 10 thing.

What's the deal with Forza 5 DLC? I'm not sure if I'm actually going to play it but I am guessing the DLC will be pulled soon so would be cool to grab it now before I forget.

The tracks are free? So I don't need to buy anything to be locked out of any mode/challenges/achievements etc in the game?

The tracks are free but you pay for the car packs, however some are free, confusingly.

Yeah, the paid DLC is just car packs. There were two track add-ons (Long Beach and Nurburgring), but they were free title updates. The corresponding "booster packs" were just extra cars, so not essential content.

I think I recall the Top Gear pack being required for some achievements, but that's included in the GOTY edition, which is the one that's free on GWG.

Yeh I saw those too and was a bit confused. The way the xbox store lists items makes it even harder to work out what's going on

Sweet thanks. I'll not bother then and if I come to play it at least I have access to the tracks.

I'd wait and see if the car pass/vip is in the weeky sale; if so it will probably be knocked down quite a bit.

Grab that while you can, before it goes back up/disappears forever.

Done.

What about the VIP membership? Is that just the standard forza XP boost per race to level quicker? Is the grind like older game in Forza 5 or did they make it more play to win

If its cheap then get it for the 5 extra cars and the xp boost (i think).

Depending on your prior forza experience, the weekly forza rewards which you claim from the website should see you through. I get about 300k every week for each xbone game.

I don't think I've ever had the VIP membership so not sure what they have included historically. I should be okay with credits because as you say that forza rewards thing dishes them out like sweets (I probably have millions o credits ready for me in Forza 5 already  ).

Wasn't sure if it boosted XP and the manufacturers? as I remember that being a real slog in F3 and F4.

All it says is "2x player reward acceleration". It was a ripoff at its original price but £2.40 at the moment is a decent price for a handful of good cars like the 787B, shelby cobra and ruf yellowbird as well as a quality of life improvement. The thing with the rewards is you have to manually claim them each week, so you might not have as much as you think.
