Recently my power brick broke for my Xbox, and I have been looking for a new one. Will any power brick work or do different motherboards require different power bricks?

I've just got the three red lights on my 2006 360.

Am I correct in thinking if the battery light is orange it's faulty?

No if it's red then it's shot. Orange is for when it's plugged in and switched on but the 360 isn't on and green is for when the 360 is on.

Sorry, yeah the big block behind my tv.

I gave it an hour to cool down and started to work again. I was downloading a demo and having a little look around and as soon as I clicked on something it went black and I had the three red lights again. I really have no idea about the red ring of the death but it seemed more like a software failure as both times it red ringed as I'd clicked on something.

It strawberry floats me off because I've hardly used it over the years I've had it, and tonight it was literally on for a couple of minutes in cool conditions and it conks out on me.

So, do you think it's the battery or console itself?

Edit: Thanks PCCD.
