We know the release date and if Microsoft has any sense stock will be plentiful so I'm not bothered about a lack of ability to order it yet.
I just hope the xbox pad is more robust than the PS4 pad as I don't intend to buy spares.

I don't believe so, BID0. Usually consoles are announced with pre-orders ready to be taken pretty sharpish... MS seems to be doing things a little differently here.

At the price MS are trying to flog them for, I don’t think anybody needs to worry about stock running out on release day. :slol:

I want to get it ordered so I don't forget about it come day 1  or change my mind :slol:

I'm a little disappointed this is coming with the regular pad and not the souped up one. I would have rather spent a little bit more money if Microsoft could have sold the controller at close to cost :shifty:

Smyths over here stopped taking pre-orders. I thought my missus had said she pre ordered a few weeks ago but she merely asked if she could. :fp:

Drift is a problem, as in both my pads push forward on left stick slightly. Oddly, i went back to original pad and it had stopped. So I'm using my Day One 2013 pad and it's fine.

I can imagine Smyths thinking “Wow, let’s get started with the pre-orders, demand is going to be overwhelming!”

And then they quietly stopped “taking” pre-orders after nobody signed up…

The Xbox One X hasn't got FCC approval yet so you can't pre-order it.

Yeah, well that's kinda what guy said, they have taken pre-orders but have stopped until they have word of numbers from Microsoft.

Seems pretty promising. Most games will output to 4k at current refresh rates without needing lots of work. Some games and engines have loads of GPU usage to spare for other flourishes. Some engines (especially ones that were 900p or below and are very GLU intensive and / or run at 60fps) will need some sort of resolution scaling but 4k isn't being ruled out.

Considering how well chequerboard rendering has worked on the PS4 Pro I'd be happy for the more complex games to use that and have solid frame rates.

For what it's worth, Smyths never took preorders but you can register your interest so they'll contact you when preorders open.

It will be interesting to see how much difference the faster hdd and ram make with the OS.
Surely it should be super speedy silky smooth.

So, who's pretty sure of getting this?
I am as I don't have an xbone and I quite fancy giving the exclusives a try and having games run at what will surely be best versions of this gen consoles is always nice.

I was tempted, Peter, but I feel too invested in PlayStation to switch back to Xbox. Games, PS Plus, Final Fantasy sub, controllers, charger, headset... I have been well into the PS4 and, having got a Pro, I am hoping that it will last me for quite some time.

I'm hoping that the X does really well, though, as that will drive Sony to raise it's game in terms of support for the Pro.
