Hopefully it's the last time Microsoft needlessly uses bespoke connections again and is more consumer friendly.

In their defence it wasn't needless. The Kinect uses more power than a standard usb port could provide at the time.

Perhaps, although I find it strange that any component in a Kinect is more than 5v-12v. Or they could have powered it directly from the external brick like this new adapter thing does.

I have the external brick connected to my S and its a way messier setup than the single cable solution the Xboxone and Kinect 2 launched with.

If MS had put proper resources behind the Kinect at the Xboxones launch we wouldn't be having this conversation as they'd have given themselves enough reasons to maintain the one cable solution. It's a cool piece of technology that they've completely wasted.

You can now download the 4K content updates to your XB1, so they're ready to transfer over to the 1X as soon as you get it.

I can't find the answer to this question anywhere.

I know the list of 'enhanced games' but when do they receive their 'enhanced patch'? Day one or gradually??

Over time I guess. They won’t be all ready at once, I’d be surprised if they were all ready to download by the x launch, some might come after.

Tune in Sunday, October 22 to See the New Xbox One X Commercial

This is truly an exciting time. Not only for Xbox, but for gamers everywhere. With the launch of Xbox One X just a few weeks away on November 7, the world’s most powerful console is positioned to welcome the True 4K gaming era in style and we’re celebrating in a big way with the start of our “Feel True Power” campaign.

Please join Xbox on Sunday, October 22 at 4 p.m. PT (midnight UK) on our official Xbox YouTube channel for an exclusive preview of our anthem “Feel True Power” TV commercial before it airs on “The Walking Dead” season premiere at 9 p.m. PT and also during the Atlanta Falcons vs. New England Patriots NFL game; kick-off is 5:30 p.m. PT. You can get a sneak peek at the top of this post.

The campaign is designed to appeal to all gamers, taking the audience on an emotional roller coaster to elicit emotions like awe, excitement, fear, and passion; a call for gamers to feel the emotions of gaming in a way they may never have felt before. “Feel True Power” represents that the experience isn’t just about what you see, but also what you feel.

I still fail to see the reason this is even being released so late in the consoles lifecyle. It will die fairly fast.

If I was going to buy a console now it would have to be the Xbone X. Can't see too many people upgrading if they already own an Xbone but I doubt they expect to shift massive numbers.

I wonder how well the OX is going to sell? It appears that the console is going to be pretty well supported in terms of enhancement patches for older and current games.

There is no doubt that it will grab the “most powerful console” title from PlayStation but the price tag places it in quite a niche bracket. It’ll be interesting to see if the attraction of (potentially) having the best versions of multi-format games will encourage more people to splash out.

I'm getting one because it's smaller, faster and will give a clear performance boost to many X1 games. If you can afford it go for it.

I'm thinking I might sit this one out.
There's not a killer app that makes me want to jump in and the cost of an XBO X and 4K TV is a bit much for a resolution bump. Coming in a season when I'm busy and spending isn't prudent. So I will probably wait until the Halo: MCC patch /upgrade. It will make Spring something to look forward to.

:o ... I had thought you’d be a definite for Day One, Venom! I can understand your thinking, though - the cost of a 4K TV makes the bigger picture pretty expensive.
