Was watching a video earlier which shows Battlefield 1 mp is locked 60fps, didn't realise how bad it was on X1 till seen comparison. Was holding off on a X1X patch but think ill check it out tonight.

There is no 4k patch is there?

Picked up my X1 yesterday. Went on a bit of a spree in Curry's and got them to knock £50 off. First impressions; nice box.

Well I've now joined the 4K HDR TV squad, an Xbox One X is only a matter of time...

What TV did you plump for?

I totally forgot that Xbox One controllers aren't rechargeable; I assume the play and charge kits are the way to go?

Also, I'd like to buy a second controller but the price difference between different colours on Amazon is huge. Is there any difference (other than the elite) or are they all the same?

I bought a set of 4 rechargeable batteries so I can have a pair in the controller and a pair charged as it seemed the cheapest option.

Fortnite, Skyrim and Fallout 4 are supposed to be getting their X updates today apparently.. Sounds like Fortnite is running at "80% of 4k then upscaled" with the HUD at full 4k and all the graphics settings bumped up to the equivalent of "epic" on PC so should look snazzy...

Just got a 1.7gb update for Fallout. It installed and was then showing as an X enhanced title.

Fired it up and got prompted "this game needs an update".. clicked ok and it's now downloading another 17gb update. I'm thinking they may have included better textures rather than just a resolution upgrade as seems a big update for such an old title otherwise..

I got same, I think draw distance has increased and effects, looks stunning.

Yeah had a quick go. Not played it in a while but it did look amazing. Shame no HDR as I imagine it'd look awesome but everything looks pin sharp now and you can see for miles.. the lighting looks better than I remember too, almost looks like HDR is in even though it's not. Curious what Skyrim would look like but already have it on PS4/PC/PS4 VR and the missus just got it on Switch so don't think can justify buying another one and imagine the PS4 Pro version will look broadly the same :slol:

Finally unpacked the X in my new house today and what a great surprise, they obviously called the 360 designers back in. I'd go as far to say this is the best designed console yet, even my girlfriend commented on how relieved you was that it will look much nicer on the TV unit. Can't wait to get it hooked up to the LG C7.

I can't get over the controller still needing batteries in 2017. The play and charge kits are nowhere to be find as well.

You can get them easy enough here but online should be easy, it really is tiny though, and silent. It’s the smallest console I’ve owned, maybe the SNES was a little smaller.

Now that they have such a small console and the response has been pretty darn positive from what I've seen it'll be interesting to see how they manage with next gen.
I think people will expect a small console again and it would seem like a backwards step if they go chunky again. I have a feeling Microsoft will try and keep the same footprint as the OX and the days of huge machines are over.

You can get them through third party sellers on Amazon but over £20 seems crazy for a rechargeable battery. It's still mental for consumer electronics in 2017, especially for something that is such a premium package othwrwise.

Another thing, the UI also looked pretty good. A massive step up from where the X1 started.

It's a step up?
I think it's complete gooseberry fool as it feels unresponsive and slow on the OX so I dread to think how it feels on a base machine. It often just decides not load apps like the store for no obvious reason and is just total pants in general.

It’s fast on both base Xbox One and Xbox One X. I can testify to this cos I’ve used both extensively setting up and playing my daughters Xbox One. When I navigate on base it’s the same. Works perfectly.

PC, hold down Xbox button till it turns off and unplug. I bet when you restart it’s fine, it’s is cache probably dealing with all the 4K update stuff.
