Never actually properly finished Enemy Within as my save file got corrupted and I couldn't face restarting it immediately, I fully intended to but something else distracted me and I never got round to it.

Currently engrossed in XCOM: Enemy Unknown on PC and its strawberry floating incredible, so much emotional investment into my squad, I'm dreading when my top guys get snuffed out, trying to blood some rookies alongside them to soften the inevitable crushing blow.

Doubt I'll pick up the sequel for a couple of years but glad to see its getting great reviews.

I've just started Enemy Unknown as well. Got as far as the end of the tutorial on PS3 but never went any further but have restarted given the PC version was available for a dollar in the humble bundle.

So far it's great. Had to play the tutorial twice today, though, as I didn't realise autosave is off by default.

It's probably the worst part of the game

You have to learn to rush building them (and uplinks) and to send them to panicked countries at the end of the month. But once you find that out there's no strategy to it, they just serve as something to keep your cash reserves in check

To buy on release or not? Gah, this is tough.

Perfect ten from Gamecentral.

In Short: A superb sequel that improves on every aspect of the already excellent originals, and offers one of the most absorbing and unpredictable strategy experiences ever seen.

Pros: The combat is amazingly varied in terms of tactics, enemies, equipment, and maps; and yet is still elegantly simple to control. The strategy level is just as good, with excellent storytelling.

Cons: A lot of bugs, including some that give the enemy an unfair advantage.

Score: 10/10

Um, I don't get something on the game description
Earth has changed. Twenty years have passed since world leaders offered an unconditional surrender to alien forces. XCOM, the planet’s last line of defense, was left decimated and scattered. Now, in XCOM 2, the aliens rule Earth, building shining cities that promise a brilliant future for humanity on the surface, while concealing a sinister agenda and eliminating all who dissent from their new order.

Uhhh.....but I won at the end of Xcom? That's a pretty big strawberry floating event to happen between games isn't it? Does the game even give you any detail filling in what the hell happened between the two games to explain such a massive change?

Canon endings are normally the ones where you, y'know, finish the game. Rather than essentially being you turned the game on, immediately lost and then gave up to never play again.

The Game Over screen before you even get a quarter of the way through the game doesn't really qualify as an 'ending'
