Loved the first one. Didn't come close to completing this, but will revisit it at some point. It plays fine but I found the load times to be a pain in the arse.

I'm loving this but the PS4 load times are horrendous, and they are gettting worse the longer I play. No lie but it takes 4-5 minutes from completing a mission to loading back the geoscape.

Got this at the weekend, already lost my most experienced soldier to those cunty mind control things and I forget to save :x

Excellent so far though, really enjoying it.

You'll not finish it on your first playthrough anyway, I've had several attempts since launch and still haven't finished it yet .

A bit of advice - make sure you keep putting new recruits into battle so you have enough decent soldiers in the event of catastrophic mission failure (it WILL happen) and don't worry too much about the 'doomsdy timer', as long as you have an available facility mission on the map you can leave it until the last minute so you can build up your forces.

Thanks mate. Didn't even know there was a doomsday timer until I watched the angry joe review. They literally throw everything at you in one go, so confusing.

Literally getting mashed on every mission, don't know if I've gone into them too early? Went to save some civilians, managed to get 3 out before a massive shapeshifter appeared and those mind control banana splits, they then proceeded to obliterate my strike team. RIP in peace :(

How playable is it on PS4, control-wise?

I, too, would be grateful for any indication on how the PS4 version holds up. My PC is not good enough and I'm not upgrading!

You have to go back to your HQ/starting region and there'll be a couple of new staff members to recruit (for a price) but you can also acquire free soldiers, scientists and technicians as bonuses for completing missions.

When new missions appear on the map there's usually two or three to choose from, each has a different difficulty level and reward for successful completion - I recommend sticking to the easy ones until you have researched and built the 2nd tier weapons and armour, you should even consider skipping missions if your best soldiers are still out of action.

Don't forget about the monthly supply drops either, they're essential early on.

Thanks Monkey, I'm assuming it's been patched since release too like most games these days. This is definitely on my list for 2017.

Just bought on PSN for £25.

Could have gone for £15 in game but decided to stay 100% digital this generation.

Can't wait to get started. I'll be playing on the easiest difficulty setting to avoid any rage.

Wish my image sig would work

I'm on mission 3. My god its choppy in the cut scenes. I am enjoying it so far and you really need to think about each move as it could all lead to disaster.

Hopefully it keeps me interested and I don't get too annoyed by he difficulty.

By full do you mean the number of red squares in the gauge?

Don't worry about the meter until it starts actually counting down, I usually leave it until there's only a couple of days remaining then do a 'faciliy' mission (just make sure to always have one waiting) which resets the timer and removes a couple of squares off the meter.

Wait. So the bar gets full then counts down again? I've just killed a codex which took a block off my bar. Felt good man. The snipers in this are awesome. Always make sure I've got 2 so they hang back while my shotgun lads go in and make a mess.

This is really really addictive. At what point should I try the blacksite missions? I get my arse handed nearly every time I try it.

Does this have the mech suits that were in XCOM's expansion pack? I never got round to owning that but love the idea of having your troops having to give up a huge chunk of their humanity to become walking tanks.
